[RP Oriented] Rank Prefixes

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
I was re-acquainting myself with the Colonial Marines wiki the other day and noticed a new section titled ranks and thought it'd be brilliant to have this more concreted in-game for those who enjoy the RP aspect of CM.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Very minor but given how easy it would be to implement I think it's worth your consideration in my humble opinion.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Assign each occupational choice the corresponding rank (in accordance with the CM wiki page on ranks.
Currently, for example, your name is Juan Rico and you were Charlie's Squad Leader.
You would instead be renamed to SSgt. Juan Rico.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Should be quite straight-forward to link a character rename to the occupation it assigns you. It wouldn't need to changed based on ID reassignment as the wiki page states "Note: You do not assume their title or rank, only their responsibilities." it doesn't matter therefore if you're (for e.g.) the XO "LtCdr. Juan Rico" but assume the role of CO because, as the wiki states, you only assume the responsibilities not title or rank.

Please, this wouldn't damage anything and would adhere to the immersion. I already do my best to call people by their ranks, but others just stick with "SL", "XO", etc etc. Would love to see this happen, so huge +1 from me.

the researcher could too, since he probably has a doctorate in research, or nothing since it isn't a big deal

Uh...neutral, i am not a fan of ranks RP oriented as i just prefer the way we have it right now

big +1 for me on this one, I currently call the CO the CO and the XO the XO.. mostly because heat of the moment I forget what their rank is actually meant to be. Visual cue would certainly help with the remembering and increase the immersion.

big +1 from me, I'd also suggest adding an "assistant Squad Leader" job, this is a little bit of a bigger cookie, but if were adding ranks to make immersion, having a Marine get RNG and end up assistant Sl would help with the lack of SL's on low pop, and help with squads continuing effectively when someone can just start dishing out orders when an SL goes down... Also, more immersion, because every real Military squad (U.S. at least) has an assistant squad leader.

That's the purpose of the ranks? You go by pecking order. The Squad Leader is a Staff Sergeant, so the next in line would be the Specialist, who is a Sergeant, and then the most senior Engineer/Medic, then the other medics/engineers, then the standards.

I'm 100% Sure "Specialist" is also their rank. Sorry to say they are NOT a Sergeant.

-1. I prefer things the way they are, to be honest. No one would listen to Private PersonThatKnowsTheirShit if they were actually listed as a private. Most people have a superiority complex, which would only further come into play if this was implemented.

Also, I can confirm Spec's are Sergeants(At-least in this). I've been placed in charge of a squad as spec and called a sergeant numerous times in charge or out of charge.

In short, this would only feed some peoples already massive egos and probably further cause the marines to lose due to people not wanting to listen to a Private that is actually saying smart shit.

People already don't listen to most standards when they're actually being smart and call them out on being privates. A standard will be disregarded in any case because they're a standard, not because they're a Private.

Mob mentality my friend. Seen it happen everytime. And that's also sort of my point, standards already get disregarded enough. No need to tack on a Private to that Standard tag in chat to make them seem pretty much like cannon fodder.

If one person that people consider 'good'(usually for lasting longer than 10 minuted after the initial drop)for whatever reason disagrees with someone saying smart things every single person else will hop on the hate train. I've seen it happen, it's been done. We've lost due to it.
