Re: machete should fit in shoulder holster
I'm going to attack this from two angles:
Angle #1:
If you've ever held a pistol holster or a machete, you'll realize the two are about as compatible as a housecat trying to mate with a whale. To keep the gun from falling out of the holster, there's a flap of leather at the end. On some holsters, the barrel of the inserted pistol sticks out, allowing for larger guns. On others, it's like a leather sock. Most holsters have trouble holding larger pistols. A machete is a sword. The chances of the width of the blade being correct to safely fit in the holster is one problem. The length of the blade would obviously never fit into a holster, and would be sticking out even if you removed the end of the holster, which would be hella dangerous. Lastly, carrying a blade that large (it's basically a short sword) underneath your armpit would be unwieldy at best, and deadly to the carrier at worst.
Source: I went full rule of cool and carried a revolver and a machete on a coyote hunting trip once. I didn't get anything.
Angle #2:
The machete is not something to be carried easily, it's intentionally a burden. It's not meant to be supremely powerful either. It is a situational weapon. It's not something you grab half-haphazardly and stick into your backpack, it's something you have to accommodate for in your loadout. Please stop asking to buff them. They're already about as strong as they'll ever be.

Neutral
Maybe if there was some actual holster for the machete. You would typically strap it to your waist or thigh though.

Ehh would agree with Stamos on this one, I would say no. This would just allow marines to carry more weapons into combat. Could be abused quite horribly. I will ask this though, will machetes eventually allow us to cut down some of the grass in the forest or something Stamos? Just a thought there for more reason to carry one.

It's mostly good for clearing out resin. I can't really speak about any map functions about it because I'm largely removed from that area of development.

But seriously, nah. The machete needs a debuf (damage is fine, but remove the ability to block anything but human and predator blades) and be added to the vendors. Quantity over quality. We already have too many exclusive weapons on the server; throw the standards a bone.

Ehh I think it would be fine to block huggers, but spit and bullets is understandable.

Ehh I think it is fine to keep it on my back to replace my usual shotgun on it when I get a machete for the round. So I think they are fine with on armor slot or back. This is just the same issue with people wanting to carry more weapons.
