Slashing Tables/Plasteel Barricades
Bug Description: Slashing tables/plasteel barricades and then destroying them leaves with enough building material to immediately make a new one. This doesn't seem intended because destroying grilles leaves you with half the necessary rods to make a new grille. Aliens generally have to melt the barricades/tables instead. Tables should leave 1 piece of metal, and barricades should leave 2-3 plasteel pieces.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Build a plasteel barricade/table.
2. Watch as the alien breaks through it.
3. Make a new one from the left over material.

Don't think its a bug because matter is neither created nor destroyed. The reason why you get 50% of rods is because stuff is left behind when its destroyed. Tables DO leave 1 piece of metal.

also remenber the grilles have been fucked with since apop made them cost 4 rods instead of 2,and even so using wirecutters gives you half, good work

Tables leave a table piece, not metal. It uses the same code as wrenching them.Azmodan412 wrote:Tables DO leave 1 piece of metal.

Re: Slashing Tables/Plasteel Barricades
If you wrench table parts, you get one metal. Also, ever deconstructed a table? You're left with a jumble of parts.

This thread is not about deconstructing tables.

Re: Slashing Tables/Plasteel Barricades
As I said, matter is neither created nor destroyed. Slashing a table apart makes table parts that people can reuse to make a new table. Same with plasteel. As long as it isn't melted, it can be reused.

Re: Slashing Tables/Plasteel Barricades
I do not see what is the problem with that, plasteel is very expensive and we only get limited amounts of it in the sulaco, also, if an alien or a group of aliens takes the time to destroy a metal barricade it is because the marines do not have enough men to defend that barricade making futile the recovery of the materials. And we are talking about a metal barricade, do you know how much pressure per square centimeter takes to penetrate even a 1 centimeter thick steel barricade? aliens already have the oportunity to destroy metal barricades which should be already a bug, but they have this oportunity because it balances the game in the same way that they do not destroy the materials of the barricade and if this get "fixed" then devs should balance it by making the barricades only destructible by acid or crusher charge.
