Actually enforce the rule against 'gangsta' speak as an alien ("Xeno-specific rules:" "keep it formal and realistic. No talking like a gangster.")

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
In another thread, someone mentioned the reason that they don't play alien is the terrible RP. This is partly true and partly wrong, sometimes people are pretty good and most of the time it's fine, but occasionally you get some pretty terrible people. And they never get stopped, so they keep doing it. Again and again. Leading to a shitty atmosphere (if people see bad stuff around them constantly, they don't try as hard). If this was actually stopped it'd make it better for everyone.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
- More mods that actually play alien semi-regularly instead of nearly always marine, and looking at this as a factor to keep balanced in the staff instead of one-sided - if they don't ever RP themselves, it doesn't affect them, and there's also a tendency for staff to not observe much so they don't see how bad hivemind is as much (better more accessible Server Log button on admin tab would be useful too, giving mods access to that and colour highlights/different tabs/files for different chat groups to avoid having to hunt and peck in 50000 lines).
- Egorkor/Graham McLagan is responsible for most of this verbal diarrhea, a job ban would be help in the short term

We xenos need some support from the staff, not just marines. Even though marines fuck up more hilariously and more often than xenos, we are underappreciated. +1

Many of the smaller rules can fall under this complaint. I often see suicide, minor metagaming and etc go unpunished. I never really bother making reports, because last time I made a bunch (which were all on smaller rules being broken) I was told to stop by an admin (I think it was Coronel, it might have been SAS, I apologise if it wasn't) because it was 'too much work'.

It's all well and good for you to tell us to enforce this, I've seen sooo many cases lately of people complaining in dead chat or looc about rule vreaking. For the love of God if you see it, report it. We sadly aren't omnipresent.

It's all well and good for you to tell us to enforce this, I've seen sooo many cases lately of people complaining in dead chat or looc about rule vreaking. For the love of God if you see it, report it. We sadly aren't omnipresent.

For the love of God play with a non staff account sometime and try it, seriously (next headmins should see this, mystery shopper style thing), you try dealing with these people (mods) I gave up on them... It's awful.

(literally, that's in the game code to passively insult people and imply that their report is probably stupid anyway. And some mods enjoy hitting that button)
You don't get to know which of those 3 it is. It's the most arrogant, bureaucratic, lazy line put in SS13.
"Hi, so you're taking that seriously right?" / "They're doing it again" / "I didn't see anything happen. just checking this wasn't missed?" etc
Inevitably: "You received your reply already." / similarly obnoxious response (This is REAL. Social skills should be the #1 priority for mods, something went seriously wrong somewhere in HR recruiting.) to people trying to help, reporting stuff that the moderators themselves don't notice/just plain don't care unless it affects their own special snowflake character.

If you have access to the server look in the data folder, then the logs folder and search for "]ADMIN: PM: NAMEHERE/" and output it to a big text document or something, see the tone and consider how you would feel being spoken to (or autoreplied that they're declining to tell you if they are even dealing with it or not) in that way when trying to help.

overall, don't care much. there are people going full meme mode in the hivemind and then there're that are not. sides, what kinda "RP" is expected from chatting in the hivemind, I do not know. after all, it's kinda hard to roleplay when all you are is a mindless killing machine and nothing else.

In all technicalities an admin reserves the right to ignore a rule if he or she believes it's for the better of the round. Rule 0. In which only an admin may make claim to.


In regards to the topic at hand, we are not everywhere. Ahelp these things and bring it to our attention, if a mod fails to uphold the rules then contact a head or make a staff complaint.

I do not know what other members of staff do about this, but I can personally attest to myself, and several fellow staff members dealing with Aliens that do not use general common English. We do not allow net-speak, memes, slang, or pigeon versions of English in this server. If you a-help and nothing is done, attempt to a-help again. If staff are online and ignoring your a-help; report all active online staff to a host or a report forum.

I wouldn't mind more enforcement for the xeno hivemind. But I'm really only bothered when I see xenomorphs referred to as lads, boys, guys, and so on. But honestly it's not that bad. You have a few AYYYYYY LMAO people, but it really depends on how the team is doing. If the aliens are all running around and doing their own thing, it's usually really light rp. If the xenomorphs are acting together like an actual hive, they typically behave like an actual hive. The queen has a lot to do with that. If the queen is new or bad, the xenos stop giving a damn. If the queen puts in some effort, so do the aliens.
