Allow the wearing of Pajamas.

Post by AnUnnamedPlayer » 22 Apr 2016, 20:08

Summary: My suggestion is that the rule pertaining to uniforms, specifically the pajamas, be changed so that we may be allowed to wear our pajamas in combat instead of being forced to wear our uniforms.
I can vouch from personal experience that when in a QRF, marines would load up and deploy in whatever clothes they were wearing at the time. Over 2 years in the USMC working as a QRF or BUF, I have personally deployed in hoodies, sweat pants, athletic shorts, sandals, underwear only...like you name it. I've even seen another marine load up completely naked cause he didn't have any clothes on at the time.
If the server wishes to have some realism when acting like marines, this would be one of the most accurate ways to portray how a marine would act.

Benefits:It's simply an RP matter, no real benefit.

Details:There aren't any details to this, it's very self explanatory.

Implementation:Change the rule?

I am guessing this will be autodenied, since you didn't follow format.

I've heard all sorts of stories like that, but when you're in a ship with the company commander, first sergeant, and all other sorts of CO's in the AO, you're gonna have your pants on.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

There's a fundamental difference between a QRF hat is going on with our server.

The marines have plenty of time on their hands. There's no urgentness. If you have time to camp outside the RO's office for your three barrel chargers, two scopes, webbing and a shoulder holster, you have time to put your uniform on.

If the Aliens are onboard the Sulaco, THEN it's fine to run around in your undies. But if you're deploying to the planet, chances are you can spare the two seconds to not look like a mouthbreather.

I can see your point. I was under the assumption, (that even though it takes us a while to get planet side) that we were supposed to be operating quickly and trying to get down there ASAP.

If we were, we would skip briefing (and hold it on the shuttle) and the RO wouldn't be handing out attachments. If you've watched the film, the marines actually take the time to eat breakfast, fool around, and get fully geared up before they deploy. They're certainly not in a huge rush. We're much the same way.

From a gameplay perspective, we actually prefer some prep time because it gives the aliens some time to prepare themselves and get organized.

As Joshuu stated, this is a casual deployment to begin the round. That is where the marines uniform rule applies. But in an emergency exceptions will be made allowing you to defend yourself. Such as, if you wake from cryo and aliens are boarding the Sulaco

In the movie there were seven hours between thaw and drop. They got dressed, did some pull-ups, did the knife trick, threw cornbread at Bishop, and had a jolly time posing for the camera with smartguns. -1

Denied. Forever.

Your supposed to be a marine. Have at least a SMIDGEON of military discipline. It's not like your being roused from sleep for immediate defensive deployment. You were aware you were going on a mission, and have time to prepare and gear.

Lock thread and move to denied?
