Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Boost the number of plastisteel sheets in marine engineer prep.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
With the removal of the ability to shoot through grilles, marine defenses have been severely nerfed with no viable alternative to stopping crushers outside of plastisteel barriers, which are limited by the small amount of plastisteel marines have access to. Currently marine prep starts with 120 sheets in total, with 30 per squad. It is possible to get access to another 60 sheets in tool storage(yes there is more plastisteel in engineering, but if you take that you run the risk of pissing off the MTs/CE and possibly getting arrested, that is if you even manage to take it before the MTs do). Regardless the amount of defenses marines can build has been severely limited by the nerfing of grilles, and this could serve as a small buff until other defensive ideas are implemented like concertina wire or whatever the coders have planned
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Boost the number of plastisteel sheets in each marine engineer prep from 30 per squad to 40-60. The exact number can be up for debate, but I feel this buff is well needed for marines.

IDEA:
Your Squad leader had 3 supply beacons. Maybe... Ask him to order some from the RO and have it delivered DIRECTLY to the FOB through the supply drop system?
This is LITERALLY what we designed it for.

Which is done often. But this takes time and resources. Oftentimes materials will be pushed to the back of a queue consisting of helmets, ammo, medical supplies, advanced weapons, mines, turrets, etc. That is if the RO hasn't already gone braindead, in which case then you have to rely on an already busy command staff to make time and head over to cargo and do the ROs job. Moretimes than not when I request plastisteel it takes over half an hour before I end up seeing it, if I ever see it at all. This is especially noticable on lowpop rounds, where plastisteel is already scarce as oftentimes there will only be 1-2 squads with engineers, meaning you only have access to 25-50% of the available plastisteel at roundstart, as well as less officers to order and drop supplies.apophis775 wrote:IDEA:

Actually, I always wanted to engineers have not 30 sheets of plasteel in prep, but 50. This would be enough for me.

Re: Give marines more plastisteel at roundstart
Personally, i think it would be nice to have stacks of 50 plasteel instead of 30, but i can also understand why apop might not want excessive plasteel.
+1 to increasing stack size at the start, or just increase any metal supplies for engineer in general at the start. The game has increased pace, we either slow down how fast acid melts stuff, or give more stuff to work with.
(As of this writing, a young spitter can melt steel walls in exactly 1 minutes time, a young boiler can melt a steel wall in 30 seconds time. This is alot faster pace then when aliens could first melt through walls, with older evolutions having even faster time then even that )

I feel marines have enough plasteel to make really good FOBs. Don't see a reason for even more plasteel. Denied.
