Recycler aboard the Sully
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Simply put, cargo should have a recycler in disposal so that disposal get manned more often and things are recycled when available.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Future is a nice era, why not recycle? Also, generally speaking it'll help with material demand and give more possible purposes to the cargo techs during the brief pauses they get.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Simply put, cargo techs or whoever will be able to sort out the goods in the disposal system and more frequently they'll retrieve bodies, equipment and things that aren't actual garbage. Great benefit on that part, but even more, they'll actually get spare material as a reward for properly doing their job and attending disposal once in a while. Thus getting rid of some extra crates and broken down things instead of loitering the edge of disposal because they mis-handled the equipment to shove it away... Etc.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Simply add WO recycler with whatever tweaks you wish inside disposal.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
+1. I completely agree; a grinder or recycler would be great, especially if it deposits the recovered materials to Requisitions.
Tweaks I would make to the stock recycler code is having materials get recycled into sheets of their constituent components:
Metal objects (table parts, loose girders, guns, metal rods, floor tiles, etc) get recycled into metal sheets
Plasteel objects (metal crates, turret assemblies, etc) get recycled into plasteel sheets
Glass objects (bottles, shards, etc) get recycled into glass sheets
Paper objects get recycled into paper/cardboard sheets
Plastic objects get recycled into plastic sheets, etc

+1 But what about things things that get dumped down like marine gear? What are you going to do with it? Because you can't put it back into the Prep because CT's don't have access.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
Grinder might be able to filter things like marine gear and send them to the RO or Prep via a disposals system.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
CT can probably just send the materials/items to RO since it's where the logistic's at.
Otherwise thank you for the feedback, always love to see the concerns and ideas of the community ^^

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
Technically the Sulaco already has two recycle units which both the CE and CT/RO have access to at least one, with disposals also. The CE's access is from his office to disposals, RO has it from requisitions where the CT should also have access. Broken glass to empty bottles, those should be able to enter your autolathe, broken down into it's components of metal to glass for either preparing certain items or reverting into sheets of either.
Your Autolathes are technically recyclers on top manufactures, it'll take many things which also include broken light bulbs. So technically this already is implemented but rarely used outside by a few people. As for marine gearing winding up there, that should be removed from disposals and either returned towards the marine armory, or perhaps placed in requisition's warehouse for deployment down if unable to have an officer/marine taking it back to it's respected armory.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
Yea well, that's a good point, but the recycling unit I propose also implement the recycling of all that's not 'holdable' in hands.
It's really just to close the loop around recycling and make everything complete in that department so there's no more worries about it + Reasons stated above.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
An automated system that can recycle everything and auto-redistribute the reclaimed resources is infinitely preferable to the existing autolathe that can only recycle a limited subset of things.

Re: Recycler aboard the Sully
+1 for recycler. Ordering the sheets and metal when you have perfectly good material in disposal (is disposal even used at all) is a waste.
