Royal Huggers
Summary: Royal Huggers.. I mean what else read on.
Benefits: In the recent updates I noticed the general buffs of aliens of course the humans are always are at a disadvantage. Always. But I think at this point Xenos need to have something to make it a challenge. The royal hugger will limit on how they quickly the xenos can make the queens.
Details:Generally speaking you make the 'royal drone' Or something when the hugger infects someone limiting them to that. Then once the queen dies only 'Royal Drones' can evolve into the queen. This would require that the queen is more cautious and if the humans kill the queen then it will give them an advantage for a brief time or a lengthy set of time. If the aliens have no 'Royal Drones' then they will use the royal egg to get the hugger and infect a person and make the new born queen making them at a disadvantage for longer. I know it may sound harsh but looking into it the Royal huggers seem to be able to infect two host one for the queen and the other a typical Xeno. So the aliens can infect two in one but the queen may only be allowed to have 2-4 (even one if necessary) Royal huggers at a time. To lower the abuse of Royal hugger use at the start.
Implementation: How ever you want in my opinion it is just an idea due to the recent Alien buffs.
Hope ye all agree with the idea.

Yeah maybe that will also be a good way to enforce the tier 3 cap.Joe4444 wrote: That's right...I think its the queen and a praetorian it can make

Re: Royal Huggers
I do believe that'd break several gameplay mechanics and whatnot, additionally this idea could backfire harshly on the aliens in various situations. (-1, leaned neutral).
What I do recommend though if you want to do this, is to use the lore-wise mechanic I've heard about that the queen manipulates the egg within the host to choose which caste she wishes to see born. Doing so, you could become a queen and spend some plasma choosing 2 monkey and a tall host to become queens and it would birth a royal larva. Which immediately becomes queen rather than pass by the drone caste once she's past the five minute period.
Though, don't get me wrong, here's the flaw in this method for the aliens much like Alien 3, as well as some sidenotes:
- Killing an host with a royal larva inside is killing the future of the hive. Aliens attacking a host carrying a royal larva feels the same limitation as being restricted on slashing which makes the nesting of that host PRIMORDIAL as they'd rather not let it loose if it's a tall one.
- Additionally, the host will NOT burst untill the queen dies and/or if a certain period of time passed since then, otherwise make a mechanic for the new queen to become an entire new hive (But we know what happens when 2 xeno hive appears, they don't like to share do they?).
- CL role suddently gets a WHOLE NEW OBJECTIVE since acquiring someone with a larva that,s entirely dedicated to make a new hive often makes Wayland send a ship directly there within the week- Day- Thirty minutes? Yea well you get where I'm going.
So yea, all in all I can make that suggestion from what I just wrote if you wish

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Re: Royal Huggers
So...what's the point of this feature? what is exactly gonna change? why do we even need royal huggers? this just seems pointless as even with no queen xenos are still very dangerous and just complicates matters for no reason

Re: Royal Huggers
It's to give an advantage for the marines even if it is not that much Xenos on their own are still dangerous but with no queen they can't really expand the hive and will be disorentated for a while. Seeming as we want to follow the lore adding it would be with the lore like removing cloning we should as this.MrJJJ wrote:So...what's the point of this feature? what is exactly gonna change? why do we even need royal huggers?
Like sarah said hence why Royal drones should be added too or something similar to stop two hives being created.

Re-read my post. I dissaprove of royal drones.Darkcypher wrote:Like sarah said hence why Royal drones should be added too or something similar to stop two hives being created.
Furthermore, I said I was leaning toward neutral but I'm 70% against 30% neutral and that's mostly because I see better ways to do this.
If you read my post, I offer a way that doesn't imply removing the current system because I think it's FINE and the only thing I see wrong about it is the fact my subdueing idea is scary as hell to do now xP

Re: Royal Huggers
I indeed did misread I should of worded it better. I was meant to say 'As Sarah said about otherwise make a mechanic for the new queen to become an entire new hive (But we know what happens when 2 xeno hive appears, they don't like to share do they?). Hence the royal drones they are simply drones that can become the queen at a later stage if needed. Adding on to the CL role I personally have never played it could lead on into the use of synths in this like when W-Y find out about this and receiving a child they bring in a synth squad to retrieve it and so on...Sarah_U. wrote: Re-read my post. Re: Royal Huggers
With our current upgrade system . . . I don't think this would be good at all.

Re: Royal Huggers
We do not want to limit xenomorphs from evolving a queen. It already requires a drone, one of the least popular castes. Denied.
