Summary: Use a style of melee attack animation similar to what other servers use.
Benefits: It'll make it easier to see who or what is attacking who during combat, and make combat overall seem more involved and interesting.

Looks pretty cool! I'll confess I've never actually seen it before (I don't go to many servers).
Question, though. Wouldn't it potentially cause issues with lag and stuff? I'm not sure to what degree in-game animations can affect that, though.

+1. It looks like the throwing code mixed with a transparency layer. I like the way it looks alot but, thats up to the coders on if they want to toss it in. It can be really hard to scroll through an attack log and see who is hitting who when that should be really upfront information.

I'm always down for the sprite moving towards who you're hitting, but I find that the fading icon gets obnoxious in combat from my experience.
