Cryo-pods lights

Post by Sarah_U. » 22 Jun 2016, 14:36

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Add lights to show various informations about the pod. Much like the hydroponic trays.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Improve medical awareness and overall make sense since high tech like this should have small equipment like lights to show status, or even a monitor.
Furthermore it'll give some weight off the medbay.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Example I'd like to see:
Green light: Patient at 100%
Yellow light: Pod malfunction (Overheat/Cryo-mix exhausted).
Red light: Patient dead.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Put a few conditions and add a few sprites using these lights? Not entirely sure.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

This would be a nice little improvement.

Definitely +1, could use similar code to botany tray, right?

Would be nice if something like this was implemented for morgue trays, e.g. morgue tray colour turns green when the body inside of it can be cloned.
Back on topic however, +1 though I think it might be a bit more difficult to implement than you'd think... Maybe.

I thought this was already the case.

Last time I was checking the trays, it was not.
I was looking through them and one of the bodies did not ghost but it didn't light up or anything.
I can't be too sure because I remember it working on other servers.

+1 to anything that'll help those poor souls who end up trapped in Cryo for 30 minutes.

+1

But there really should be an auto-eject or auto-close once their health reaches 100.

Kind of unnecessary seeing as how you have to open the panel to eject them anyways.

Snype, you may of not read the goal or objective of the topic when saying that. Doctors will not always take notice or make themselves aware of the cryo-pod status. Some rounds you may see patients going douzen of minutes unanswered and finally fall victim to self-ejecting and whatnot.

This is a sort of suggestion to make sure the patient's status get visibly recognized by bystanders and to limit the work-task of the doctors;

PS: Automated ejection was denied ages ago.

PS2: If I misinterpreted my own suggestion, RIP, because it've been forever it's going around and back then people actually commented it possitively in mchat but prefered not to comment in-suggestion since they felt it made sence.

Some roles need a bit of busy work and reading the printout is part of that for Doctors. Denied.
