A suggestion or two.

Firstly, I was thinking could engineers have a choice between a welding helmet or welding goggles? Atleast then we would have a choice between wearing the welding helm or our standard marine helmet. Secondly, I've noticed during long rounds the communications keep dying out, I'm not overly sure if it's the aliens destroying coms or something, anyways I was wondering if there could be a select amount of circuits that engineers could have avaliable for use, or repairs. Have them distributed through the vendor.
The last transmission from alpha soon after they entered medbay.

I second the welding googles thingie.
Welding mask's , while more realistic , are a bit too tedious , when you could toggle your googles on and off (also would remove marines from using welding masks before encountering huggers , even if they dont have to weld anything.)

There is no contact between Sulaco and nostromo , or in-between different squads while on Sulaco.
Only your Squad leader have the capacity to contact Sulaco and the other squads , while you are on Nostromo.
That might be the reason.

This is a good idea, I'll get on adjusting the welding masks to goggles today.

The problem with comms I think, is a glitch with the power-net. I've been thinking about, setting up pre-built soloars on the Sulaco, as a temp fix, but, any future Sulaco map, will probably need an engine room. Maybe Supermatter.

i'm just going to put it out their, supermatter with the griffons? seems like that could go wrong easily... perhaps have all the gas tanks setup and preplaced, with a valve...

I've only seen it on Cargonia's Cargo terminals, but there's something called a RUST fuel system no? I've never seen one in action, but I think it'd make more sense to have a RUST system in there as opposed to Supermatter. Put it towards the rear of the ship, maybe give it Captain-level clearance if it's dangerous.

RUST... thats the one with the radioactive materials isn't it? i think that one need plasma and uranium put in it regularly to functions...

I'm not really sure about how it works. Other stations I've played on either have the singularity engines or the SM engines. Also, with the plasma and uranium supplies... I'm not sure. I've seen power-systems set up where they run on no fuel, with power readings and fuel readings coming out as some weird jumble of numbers, despite the players not having done anything.

I had three main reasons for suggesting the RUST system. Firstly, I've yet to see any server use it. Ever. It could be a Sulaco-server specific deal... until we get popular and people start following in our footsteps.

Secondly, I hate the fact that we can't kill the engines. The turbines, terminals, and SMES's in the back of the ship are all indestructible. If a Xenomorph can learn to use a shuttle transport, then it could probably learn to use the Sulaco to propagate the Hive. To prevent this, the engines would need to be scuttled.

Thirdly, radiation poisoning is treated easily enough. I've had the supermatter burst and contaminate everyone before, and the medical team of three cleaned up the mess in a matter of minutes. While the RUST system might need refueling every now and then to function, I'm sure it's definitely more robust and harder to grief. Having Supermatter explode or the Singulo escape can be devastating... on a good day.

I was placing RUST engine into my land map , for the LV-planet...

But i can assure you , that most players wont know how to start it , or even what to do whit it.

It is a lot of !FUN! tought.

Yeah. There's no mention of setting up RUST on the forums that I've seen, so it would have to be learned.

On the other hand, it would make competent engineers that much more important. And to be a competent engineer you kinda have to be a decent player. Which would mean no griffons. Right?
