Morgue Slabs/Incinerator Should Free Up Slots
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Whenever a corpse is incinerated, that corpse's job slot is freed up.
Whenever a ghostless corpse (whose owner/ghost is either not on the server or is in a Xeno body) is put inside morgue corpse storage, that corpse's job slot is immediately freed up (or replace the morgue corpse stores with cryo chambers). If its ghost is on server and disembodied it will receive a prominent notification with an audio cue to return to its corpse within 5 minutes or lose it, and have their job slot freed up.
Also corpse containers with corpses containing ghosts feature a green light instead of a red one to let Medbay staff know when they've put away a cloning/defib viable corpse, or a stored corpse has become cloning/defib viable (it's possible this exists and I've never seen it; it should since it appears to be a thing in older versions of Baystation).
To be unambiguously clear, if a corpse's job slot is freed up, that corpse is _gone forever_ (it either vanishes into the icy depths of long term cold storage or cannot be reinhabited by a ghost).
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Quality of life for Medbay by letting it free up slots without walking across the Sulaco to ridiculously deposit corpses into cryo.
Makes fucking sense, since corpses should be cremated or in the morgue.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Per summary.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Coding.

I would support this if and when cloning goes away. Until then I think it could really hurt the balance

Suddently I put every doctors in morgue, then people flag up as doctors... AND WE GET 6 DOCTORS... GENIUS!!!
... Otherwise please just use the regular cryo-code to make that thing happen, but I'd love to see my first line happen for giggles and salt
(For a single round that is)

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

ahhh, its old, but there is a thread on this topic already: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=3684
Gaze upon me,

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

Doesn't work like that; if your slot gets freed up, your body is gone: you are over, done with, off to that great gig in the sky. Forever.Sarah_U. wrote:Suddently I put every doctors in morgue, then people flag up as doctors... AND WE GET 6 DOCTORS... GENIUS!!!

Re: Morgue Slabs/Incinerator Should Free Up Slots
Eh, Neutral, leaning towards +1. Bodies should go in the Morgue, not the cyro, as stated above but the actual idea of freeing the slots can go both ways for me. I know it is OOCly really frustrating as a Doctor to see ANY role other than a standard be MIF, especially if the role is something like SL or SPC (which happens early round on a frequent basis). But at the same time, I feel like this would need something else to go with it, because for non-standard Marine roles missing supplies from there starting vendors leaves you at a SEVER disadvantage. Case and point is a gear heavy role like the SPC, they are basically standard marines without their special gear. I feel like I would like to see a system that stripped the gear from bodies in the morgue and put it back in their vendor rooms without requiring a lot of player intervention. Otherwise, I feel like it would be doing a disservice to the recently joined marines.

Re: Morgue Slabs/Incinerator Should Free Up Slots
I know i always feel bad about putting bodies in cryo when they are special/ advanced roles. You have to strip the body completely to avoid sending any one-of-a-kind equipment into the nether. Maybe this suggestion needs to be expanded upon in another thread.
