Give Research a Bluespace Beaker

Post by Surrealistik » 10 Jul 2016, 22:11

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):

Per subject.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

Allows Science to make drugs more efficiently without having to impose on Medbay which rarely has time to make drugs anyways after the first casualty dump but still would benefit from the beaker to make new drugs as needed.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

Per summary. It is a pretty big deal not to have the Bluespace beaker as it makes you only a fraction as efficient at minting drugs.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

Minor mapping changes.

Sneaky man you... Just admit you want 2 beakers for a grenade ;)

On a more serious note, place that beaker on the planet inside science with a bunch of science-related ** the researcher could use... Moving the MMI, a bluespace beaker and some other science-related projects there would be interesting.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Don't even joke; that'd be a horrible waste of a bluespace beaker.

It would be useful for research purposes, but unless I had the materials to make a new one, like hell I'd analyze it.

That said, I think it makes just as much if not more sense for Sci to have one.

on a side note, why is the mmi located in tellcomms and not in research? it never really made sense to me.
Gaze upon me,
for I have wandered deep into the ancient tombs of knowledge to which lie madness and sorrow, cleansing a path for all those who walk behind me...

...

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

MMI Theory: Radio-based, already developped and without need of further development. It'd be best to go in medbay or science yes, but maybe it recently got shiped here?... In any case, it's a left-over from what I heard and I'm just glad it's still around because it's nice to have it just for having things differ once in a while.

Bump due to second page.

Also for you marines that like drugs, it is totally in your best interests to +1 this.

+1

The researcher should generally take the brunt of the chem work, especially when medbay is busy. It's also extremely annoying to try to make chems and find that the researcher has stolen the beaker for their own use.

Bump because still not a thing and like Spanish said, Researchers are the ones that actually have time to make drugs, yet doctors still need the beaker on occasion.

The MMI in Telecomms is a Radio Enabled MMI, It's on a table with station bounced radios and headsets.
I don't think giving research a bluespace beaker is a good idea for the sole reason of it leading to them stealing medbays to make a grenade.

Who would be retarded enough to do that, especially with the chemnade bomb cap being so low? They can already make a grenade with it if they want to anyways (and if they're out to grief, they're going to destroy/steal the bluespace beaker one way or another).
