Riot shield protect you from behind

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): If you have the riot shield and you put it on your back slot instead of having to hold it in your hand so you can carry other things like a gun it will protect you from things such as spit from aliens.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): I think this would benefit the server because it means that marines have a higher chance of escaping say the hive if they are captured because they wont immediately be knocked over by spit whilst they're running.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): I don't know if it would work from a coding standpoint but I think that it would make sense to protect against somethings even if it isn't as good when being held by hand because of course you would have less control of it if you weren't actually holding it with you hand.

+1. We really need this in-game
plus since this is a RP server Which means everything should be realistic.
And we need riot shield increased percentage of blocking huggers and spitters when carried by hand.

If the nests are built well your chance of escaping is 0% no matter what your loadout is, and riot shields are already very powerful without being put on a b18 spec's back so they can dual wield machetes.

But actually, I'm more interested in being protected better from FF in the back.

+1 Indeed this would be worthy for instance if say you decided to go for say spc and wore B18 armor, and decided to go with gyro rifle or shotty or even smg. You'll need both hands to reload such weapon, if it so happens you decide to go without a backpack, it be best, just gotta turn your back to reload, and your good. I would love to this implemented for riot shield.

This isn't possible right now. Might be possible in the future, but we don't have direction-based projectile damage now.
