Make Predators explode on death all the time OR make them unclonable

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):

Make dead predators explode, gibbing their body and all of their equipment, even if they were not able to activate the bracelet, OR make them not clonable when slapped in the machine

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

Almost every time a marine gains access to a predator's body and equipment, it becomes an administrative nightmare that can be a shitfest for all involved. Really, humans should have no need for a predator anything unless one's given as a gift.



Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

Predator dies, they gib. Explosive bracelet remains if they're knocked out and want to finish it. Alternatively, make the cloner not recognize Predators and just give an error all the time.

Nah, -1 leaving towards neutral.
Seems like a waste.
Plus it's really fun if there's an active CL and someone to send him faxes, opens up some unique events.

I'm not in on the whole, 'administrative nightmare' thing, if you could give some more info on that I might reconsider.

To clarify things, we were contacted by staff never to be cloned again. A predator shouldn't give the opportunity to be cloned no less be implanted. Implants aren't mind control they're loyalty.

Thus, all comments reguarding preds getting cloned are pretty much to be re-thought.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Certainly. Right now, there was a bit of a shitstorm, of which Sarah speaks of, that brought some shame to 2 Predator players. Resolving this took about 20 minutes and put the two in hot water, as they thought the implant made them loyal to WY. Trying to implant the Predators is always a big nono due to the inevitable misunderstandings with how the implants work (which they don't, on a predator) that could screw a few unfortunately ignorant players over.

An alternative would be to make Predators unclonable.

I would prefer the unclonable side of things, to be honest. Just... seems better, rather then explosions every time.

No cloning for preds seems like the better option to me here.
I'd assume players who got an approved pred app would know how implants work, but I guess not. And while I'd give kudo's for actually trying to roleplay it out the whole thing just seems silly. Either way these preds won't make the same mistake again.

+1 for making predators uncloneable. Cloners are designed for humans. Plus, if a predator is instantly killed or doesn't activate their bracer in time, there are usually other Predators to finish the job. It can also create interesting situations, and possibly massive bloodbaths if Marines loot the body, then try to gang up on the other Predators.


.....Might want to avoid that last bit.
