New ERT (URT)

Post by Sarah_U. » 12 Aug 2016, 18:27

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
A non-descript vessel sends a boarding party with clear hostile intentions. They mean buiseness, and the ship's theirs for the taking. Or so they say.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Allows for a straightforward boarding party other than the XRTs to be sent to punish the marine team and grant more leeway for IBs to do shady undercover stuff? (Possibly, who knows).
More ERT potential, and a way to improve the general list of ERTs?
Fixes the requests for Human VS Human stuff.
Can be used by some admins as a way to make space-to-space combat event or something too.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
The marines request an ERT and the randomization is done, choosing this peculiar ERT.
An incoming transmission carries out, as per usual, but the message is quite more worrysome than the others:

Incoming Transmission:
This is the commander of the (Name here) speaking. You are being boarded and we request your immediate surrender. Give over the ship and hand your weapons or die.

After such, the boarding begins and the invaders come with 1 b18 crate and some proper weapons to begin the assault. They wear a distinctive colour (neon green?) or something.. You get where I'm going. They're properly equiped, but not overly OP and got a full squad. They avoid murdering unarmed personal as to prevent long-term problems, like keeping the ship functional and simply to use as hostages if needs arise (In general, can be broken maybe? (Staff sees if fit or not)).

URT has limited access, but comes with some C4 and tools to break into locations. They have some cover onboard to hold if trouble arise during their arrival (?).
URT has several counter-measures to prevent problems during board. Virus, flares, anything really.

OPTIONAL: Randomize with a random number from 1 to 4 the type of ERT that's sent. Objective remains the same, just the people inside are different (Iron bear, mercenaries, civilian-looking people, etc.). Possibly can be adjusted by admins for spawned URT?
OPTIONAL: This line is implemented to the transmission -> WARNING, communications are being scrambled from an unknown location. and cut down comms for 5 minutes, followed by a 'comms restored' message.

OPTIONAL: URT uses a separate shuttle that goes on a one-way docking and breach the ship, causing a big 'unknown factor'.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
[N/A]

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Point with Sulaco's anticraft laser system not shooting down pods is that every single message doesn't contain enough info to fully understand if their intentions are hostile (even XRT might, for example, contain survivors, and crew members don't know russian, so they can't translate IB Kill the crew part in time). And DS team has access codes. I'm against this suggestion in its current form, -1.

I know about the laser systems, but I didn't quite place something for that I guess. I hinted a virus in a optional suggestion in that post, but I'll actually make it a thing to explain the lack of response from SULLY systems.

Borgs
Androids (we are working on it)
Predator changes (we are working on it)
Game Modes (we are working on it, and there is a discussion sticky)
Working APC (won't happen)
Clowns/Morale Officers or anything "entertainment" related that illudes to a clown. (You WILL get a week-long forum ban, clowns are never going to be in CM)
Additional ERTs - You have the ones you have and they furfill specific purposes, no reason for "Yakuza ERT" or silliness like that.
IDs for survivors
Cloners - When we DO remove them, we'll make sure we a fair and good method of reviving or treating injuries better. But this is MONTHS AWAY, so STOP.
Granted it's about a year old, I too would love more variety, it is the spice of life, but all possible ERT roles are fulfilled, and the rest would be reskins. Your suggestion in particular seems to be a mix of ironbears and deathsqaud, a boarding party immediately hostile, but not quite murderbonering, with the objective to take the bridge or something.

I know about that, just kind of thought it'd be interesting to propose... Most likely in the very long term and it's not quite a deathsquad since deathsquads are sent with heavy armor and the ones I propose is more of an hard-to-play non-USMC(?) squad with decent equipment... (Although if you meant deathsquad objective, well yea, but not admin-spawned).

This sounds a lot like Bears. Also, no new ERTs please.
