Suit light

Post by Kerek » 21 Aug 2016, 15:43

Bug Description: I was being transported by a xeno in its stomach, after I was spit out my character sprite's light was still on, on the armor but it wasn't producing any light.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Have suit light on.
2.Be hugged and in a xeno's stomach.
3.Regurgitate body and light no longer produces light.

This is a bug with how byond handles lighting, it is not fixable on our end.

Well, I suppose an IC explanation could be that the stomach acids might have damaged the light and now you need a new lamp for your suit.

Or it shorted it out so you have to turn it back on?

Maybe you could try that? Either that, or get some new armor.

What makes you say that? This shouldn't have anything to do with BYOND. The icon_state stays the same on the item, but the lighting isn't "initialized" again once the user is spit out.

Theoretically, disabling it and enabling it should fix it. As for the underlying issue, dylanstrategie is going to attempt a fix (along with eating marines with lights leaving the light on in the area).
