Return being able to catch huggers and drop them quickly.

Post by TeknoKot » 22 Aug 2016, 08:25

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): I remember when prison just became a new map and I used to be catching huggers and dropping them instantly from carriers who tightened me in corners. This will allow albeit of balance and challenge as it's hard and fun, it wasn't that easy catching huggers. Right now we have mines that are apparently easy to destroy by more T1/T2 aliens and marine inability to drag items/wounded with rollerbeds over mines..

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Well, somewhat balances the shitty stun mechanic gameplay and allows more for challenge, counterfeit for the whole mine thing, it was always hard catching a hugger and trying to maintain position. Trust me, this won't affect anything so much as it's REALLY hard to do, because you'll get a second hugger coming in before you can kill the one you dropped, but with enough practice, it can be used.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): coding????

How does this make sense to do? I doubt a human would have the reaction speed to do this, and if you didn't damage the hugger it'd probably just clamber up your arm and to your face.

I mean, Hugger v Jarhead. Would a single marine be able to resist its almighty face fucking?

How does standing next to a hugger make sense?

Bringing up the topic from carriers throwing huggers back in the days.

I refer you to AvP 2010, where your main character can either squash facehuggers like a badass (if pred), or struggle with it, it barely inches from your face (if marine)

I don't see why not. I look forward to when marines (hilariously) accidentally throw their guns trying to catch huggers.

In a very critical situation, I've throw my rifle while a xenos attacked one of my fellow marines. It was both hilarious and sad.

Facehuggers are not beach balls that you can catch and throw back at people. I don't believe this will be coming back.
