Wear and Tear of items.
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Wear and Tear of items, for instance the more times you fire a gun the more 'worn' it would look, (I mean if you really wanted you could go into the nitty gritty and have really worn down weapons needing replacing/fixing as they are no longer able to function.) the same being applied to tables whenthey are slashed or hit by a projectile they flip to a more 'worn' sprite.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Immersion and all the jazz.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): When weapons are used alot they'll swap to a worn sprite, if defensive structures are hit too much they swap to a worn sprite state. Perhaps also with the more flights the pod and dropship do, the more worn the ships become?
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Lots and Lots of spriting Rip dev sprite team.

Re: Wear and Tear of items.
Cool, but would require a lot of sprite work.
I could see a few shortcuts though, such as how walls use a damaged overlay to show how damaged they are. It could be applied to the dropship and pod as they get used, and could give engineers somethin to do besides replacing windows and fixing sentries when she comes in to the hanger.
Other than that, I dunno, it would take a long time to create sprites for everything.

Sprites/overlays either one would be great and yeah I expected that this would take a long time to do/complete if it was ever accepted, much like my other suggestion which follows the same kind of suggestion theme.Renomaki wrote: Other than that, I dunno, it would take a long time to create sprites for everything.

Re: Wear and Tear of items.
I am going to immediately shoot down your tinytext because weapons don't crumble apart after a couple hours of use.
As for the rest, well, it was already pointed out that walls have a damage overlay, and so do metal barricades, windows and other stuff. Pod and Rasp don't have them because they are indestructible by bashing/bullets. This is probably already on the "to-do" list of spriters, +1 if only to know at what position, and what is above them.

What I meant with the tiny text was not the guns themselves would be destroyed, I meant that they would require replacing/fixing as the gun would have been used alot in the jungle, perhaps even the gun is clogged with dirt?. (You chaps can probably think of something that would actually make balletics sense, as I honestly have a very small pocket of knowledge when it comes to guns)Iatots wrote:I am going to immediately shoot down your tinytext because weapons don't crumble apart after a couple hours of use.

Re: Wear and Tear of items.
Could be interesting still, if it was just that a weapons sprite became more worn, the actual effects of it imo would probably be too much of a nerf, so just the sprites probably.

Re: Wear and Tear of items.
This would be a incredibly amount of spriting work for every item.
I don't know, this one is up to the devs.

+1 But dont mess with the guns! Crist, they are bad in fights as it is and you want them to mulfunction too? Who the hell will do the repairs? Do you want to see a ton of rifles dropped just because they worn out? If you want just a texture changes then its like add 4-5 new pixels to a gun sprite? Sounds ehh.

Re: Wear and Tear of items.
Probably not happening given the work required. Not out of the question, but not something we're focusing on. Denied for now.
