Pretty self explanatory IMO, you'd apply the analyzer for a neat extra little boost, perhaps the proximity alarm feature would allow an overwatch officer to keep a closer eye on an otherwise unguarded vantage point.

+1. They are available for upgrades, but the upgrades are disabled. Its unknown if this is a bug or if its by choice scince there are issues with proximity items in the game. Personally, i am on the fence on camera upgrades. On one hand, i think engineers who spend the time and effort to upgrade and set up a camera network should be rewarded. On the other hand there is a chance for balance issues.

in case people forgot: x-ray vision allows cameras to see through walls but does not allow them dark vision i believe
EMP protection means cameras work despite EMPs, which i dont think is a very common thing in CM
Proximity alarms, i cant remember how those work again.

Maybe raising the overall cost in time or resources to upgrade the cameras and it should be fine.
