Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add the option to remain awake for a few seconds before a hugger latches onto you, giving time for someone else to pull it off and help negate cancerous hugger combat.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Negating hugger combat and not being as cheesy as it is.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): It would work like, a person is fending off a hugger for roughly 8-12 seconds before succumbing to it. If someone else shakes them up it tears the hugger off and the person stands up still awake. After the timer is up though, the hugger latches and the person is relatively screwed like usual.

I'm not looking for a way to make it so there's some chance of fighting the hugger alone, standing up, and going back to business. I'm saying it still knocks you on your ass and you're still rightly fucking paralyzed until helped up. I just want it to not be so debilitating when a carrier shows up and instantly cucks 3 people with no access to helmetry.

If a woman, albeit someone who works in the Cargo Docks with a bit of HURR to her arms, could fend off a facehugger, why could a fit United States Marine just get royally instafucked when one shows up?

Could you make future suggestions title appropriate ? It isn't clear from a glance at all what is being suggested here until you read the topic. I assumed this had to do with the CL, not huggers.

+1 should still instant succumb to the hugger if the alien manually forces it onto them (clicks the person with hugger in hand). Not running around dropping them all over like a young runner, or hiding them under a ore box crate.

This might make more for the creepy already in the hive infections which you see all the times in tha moooovies and vidyas.

With the seconds before you collapse, currently, I have the time to pull out my boot knife and click on the hugger on my mask spot. I'd like to be able to kil said hugger when I do this and get insane acid damage. Just my two cents though.
It's not dying after you shot it a couple of times? I think the real question is, why didn't you keep shooting?

So, upon playing carrier, I noticed that there's already a delay. If I hit you, you have time to move 2 tiles towards me, notice, then go 5-6 tiles back and collapse, so it might already BE a feature (or consistent lag).

This is already a feature, You have time to get back with your buddies when hugged. In my opinion this is not the way to nerf huggers, Especially since it will effectively put a end to picking off lone marines near other marines.
What should instead be looked at is why helmets that are so effective against bullets and all sorts of other things are torn off and useless when a single hugger leaps at you and is presumably resisted somewhat?
I would be perfectly fine if helmets took two huggers to remove, But then it would become a problem of req sendin a crate of 30 helmets down and marines retard-charging into the hive and being fine.
So perhaps, A long cooldown ability to fight a hugger off as if your helmet had an extra level of protection? To reflect training and strength.
Example: So and So catches the alien as it leaps for his face and manages to fling it away!
But only every 5 or less minutes?

This is hardly a feature. You have a single tick, or two, while the hugger scream animation plays. I regularly see people get maybe a step or two, max.

Enough time to move at least 10 tiles if you're standing. Which if you're more than 10 tiles away from friendlies you should be fucked anyway.
