Sniper Rifle Is Still Shit: How to Fix It So It's Not Shit

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):

Per the subject. Upon actually using this weapon Apop has finally admitted that FF on it is basically retarded.

Nerfing the weapon's close range accuracy to the ground has not saved this weapon at all.

Suggested changes:

#1: Make its NV scope proper nightvision.

#2: Either eliminate FF while zoomed in or while being completely stationary after 2 seconds of remaining stationary.


Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

Decisively stops a backline weapon from constantly FFing marines because you typically have a screen of them in front of you at any given time outside of FOB camping rather than the kludge of poor close range accuracy which doesn't really address the problem.

Lets the Sniper Rifle be a valuable recon tool.


Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

If you remain stationary for a full 2 seconds (i.e. take aim; you get a notification), or are zoomed in, the sniper rifle ignores FF; essentially this is an abstraction of its user precisely aiming the weapon so it doesn't hit friendlies.

The NV scope isn't shitty mesons, but actually ignores darkness like NV stuff generally should.

needs to go throught resin doors/non reinforced windows and also heat vision just like xenos, u know where they are but still need light, i feel like nightvision is to much

+1 due to how currently you are better off taking a marksmen rifle as a standard then having a type of sniper spec the only real advantage the sniper spec currently has is the incendiary ammo which is void if the user of the Marksmen rifle asks for a incendiary 10mm mag from the armoury.
