Its often the case that when a marine is pounced a nearby marine that wants to be helpful will begin shooting at the alien. The pounced marine will however stand up quickly and turn teamwork into a FF situation. By having the marine choose to stand they have a much better chance of avoiding bullets as the alien is driven away.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

When a marine is pounced set them to rest mode or even better have them use resist to stand up afterwards.

If you can't type rest fast enough, the solution is to make a macro, because if you flip it upside down the problem remains, flipped: marines not typing fast enough to escape the short runner pounce and not get hugged.
