queen gibbing

Post by Joe4444 » 29 Oct 2016, 22:34

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Remove the ability for the queen to gib

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):there's honestly no reason for the queen to have the ability other than to prevent cloning(or add in a rule which is stated below)

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc.):some people will call this a "salty rant" but I've just had a conversation with some people in Mchat as to why the queen has this ability. No one could come up with a solid reason of why the queen should have this ability. The only reason a queen gibs is to prevent cloning(under the disguise of"hurr durr its to intimidate of course "while doing it near no one but xenos)and to be honest its meta.So if its not removed could we at least get a rule to stop queens from gibbing unless they have a REALLY valid reason(or they do it in front of multiple, non crit hosts who can CLEARLY see it happen).Admins wouldn't be searching for this actively. It'd be up to the person who got gibbed to Ahelp it.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):I guess it'd be coding. Unless you go with the second one...which would be a rule update I assume.

There's sometimes need of gibbing cause of the light the corpses make at hive and at assault from xenos.Yes it could be a rule that only in that case she should be allowed to gib.

But what about those times when a queen gibs in a movie style? Like the time Gamma, the last DS member was stuck in a hallway shooting the queen point blank with his Mataba while the queen, looking him in the eyes the entire time lifted him and gibbed him. Best moment, 10/10

Gibbing is very cinematic. Most queens seem to know when it would be shitty to use, I've yet to see it used on a recently dead marine outside of the hive. Most of the time the queen gibs marines that have no chance of being recovered; this is to either provide morale to her hive or to intimidate the other captured marines. It's a great RP piece for a captured marine to see the friend they had just been confiding in minutes ago be torn into hunks of meat and tossed at their feet.

And then there was that queen that gibbed me just to destroy my specialist gear. They talked about it in LOOC.

Seeing as Cloning will be removed Soon (TM), I don't see how this is very relevant. Also, if you are in a situation where the queen can safely take the time to gib your corpse, you are unlikely to be cloned anyways.

gibbing removes the corpses which emit light and wastes the enemy's resources (mmm oh yes spec gibbs) and also boosts your children's morale

Maybe, when gibbing, it's only a chance to destory the entire body like it does not, but it just makes it so they don't have legs.

And for the lights thing, some suggestion was posted about xenos searching and turning off lights.

Locking this. Queens get to keep their gibbins for now.
