Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Make a seperate, secondary server with minimal admins or mods and keep it up 24/7.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): A ruleless, guns-free server where all the idiot memesters and Russians can play would make CM itself be more about the atmosphere, immersiveness, and roleplay that are all totally lacking these days. The only way to do that is to make a seperate place so the strain on CM itself is less.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Splitting the server into two won't make CM any less popular, it'll just mean people have something to do and practice on when they inevitably spend 20 seconds on the planet before dying ignominously through some cheap, unfun tactics that have permeated CM. An HG-only server would let people get rid of some steam without it affecting CM itself.

We're actually talking about re-coding HG completely as its pretty messy currently.

However, weve noticed a lot of players lose interest in HG after a few rounds and drains the POP

The only reason why HG is fun is because there are lots of players to play in it.

I'm pretty sure if a second server is started, it'll be popular for a few days then die down.

I Don't know about that.

I feel that the HG server would just be used to relieve stress from the normal round when you die, which imo is a good thing as in-theory Dsay won't be so toxic.

Also HG rounds don't last long so it's a good time waster while you wait for the next round if you don't want to play xeno or be an Rt member.

The way you bring it is not the way I'd ike it to be, I'd rather have it moderated and still a CM server with no dickish behavior and english-only. I'm french and learned english, or to speak it better on the web and through my classes... If someone can't put the effort, well they better get a refund for the vodka and tacos (Jokes aside, I just prefer a friendly server where we can have fun).

Moderation is there for a reason, people shouldn't trash talk one-another and having another server doing that kind of stuff would be an hassle, would rather have it do WO, HG, custom events and less lore-friendly interactions.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Honestly I would be fine with this, add some more stuff besides HG though, i can see that getting a bit boring to quick.

Honestly, a Hunter Games server would only be fun for so long, before people start realizing how shitty the gamemode is and understand why it is a rare mode the admins put up.

The only good thing about this suggestion is that, if it were the past, people would stop chanting for Hunter Games, not because they don't need to anymore, but because they will have experienced it for hours on end and have realized just how rubbish it really is.

Hunger Games is a roughly-coded party trick. On top of that, in it's current state, it's not worth the effort of implementing an entirely new server to cater to low-RP shit-flinging.

We don't need to build a playground for griefers and memesters to make CM a better place. We ban them, that's how we keep them out. All a Hunger Games server would be is a poorly-coded Guantanamo.

Just because you personally don't like the game mode is not a reason to keep other people from playing it. When people die in game they just leave the server anyway, a tiny percentage stick around to play xeno or the odd chance of joining an ERT. It would be pretty nice to keep playing in some form, even if it's on a 'shitty gamemode'.

What I'd offer instead is to make a large area on centcomm with invulnerable turf.
Allow the dead to fight, RP and mess around in there, but don't count them as living (Allow them to be brough in a xeno body or counted for ERT).

Would make people stay and vent their hate, possibly practice and even better, you could do boot camps in that environment to try and get tactical formations, firing squads, etc formed and such.
I'd personally be interesting to map the area if it came to be, but a separate suggestion should be put on for that to come...

Sounds very much like this but on a larger scale.

If something did happen like that, I think it would be best if there were two sections to said map, one for dead pvp and the other for the 'training' area, so there is something for everyone. I mean the thunderdome could probably and easily be converted to a dead fighting area for pvp and then for the Training just have a separate area/map for it.

HG isn't in any state to function as a unique server. And there are SS13 servers out there that function on the same idea, while being better development and fully featured (Traitor Deathmatch, as an example), that do not have any players. I don't think this would last, and a chunk of the players do not even like HG. I think going forward reworking HG into something that is like an actual game mode will be preferable than sort of what it is now. I have a suggestion topic about it somewhere on the forum, and considering I've been looking into game mode code, I might look into it again. I am denying this for now.
