More ammo around LV624

Post by Abbysynth » 16 Nov 2016, 13:38

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): There are at least 4 shotguns, 3 .22 pistols, and assorted other handguns around LV 624, but almost no ammo for any of them. In particular some boxes of shotgun shells would make things much less frustrating for survivors who lost their cool Russian guns in the Great Shuttle Purge

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Come on, there's some guns down here, why's there no ammo? You'd think there'd be tons of it, especially since the xenos supposedly overwhelmed the colony before they could mount a resistance.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Add some ammo boxes around. There's m41 ammo in the tablefort but no m41s. There's shotguns lying around with no shells.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Mapping

Ninja edit: How about adding rare gun and ammo spawns in the random supply crates?

Giving survivors a chance to survive? What next, anything for them to do? Are you mad?

+1 survivors need a chance atleast. Not a bunch of ammo however as someone robust could destroy the entire xeno team before marines are even prepped.

I mean they can't really do much anyway regardless of ammo.

That's a lie. As a survivor with 2 shells alone I was able to survive longer then the deagle survivor. Ammo matters

But you see Xenos have more than enough ways to take them down regardless of ammo.

I don't know if this will help. The ayys will camp the places where they know the survivors will be.

This assumes all xenos are robust, as a survivor you probably aren' slaughter them alone but as long as you have ammo they think twice about attacking you can force them to keep thier head downs. Though on high pop you're fucked anyway when a eozen are hunting you from the start.

When me and Coroneljones roled as survivor. He scared off an ayy by smashing it over the head with a bottle of whisky.

I've noticed that aliens just steamroll survivors that don't powergame. Conversely, well-armed survivors would kill off the hive. It's a paradox.

I strongly doubt any number of survivors could kill off the hive these days compared to before; even with 3 people with loaded weapons, barricaded in engineering with shocked doors and double-thick walls, survivors still get melted into and all wiped. In Ye Olden Days you had much fewer xenos spawning at round start as well, and they were weaker.
