Night vision goggles and rail scopes.

Post by mrturkeytoe » 25 Nov 2016, 23:45

Summary: Marines get shot by spitters in the dark often (especially with the light nerfs) with no way to return fire and snipers are really useless in the dark so I suggest adding NV goggles and NV scopes.

Benefits: Give a small amount of marines a edge over lurking spitters and other close up castes so they never have guaranteed safety in darkness.

Details: Add a crate to cargo that has say, two NV scopes and three NV goggles for say roughly 70 points, maybe have cargo start with one pair of goggles and one scope. And make the spec snipers start with a NV scope mounted.

Implementation: It shouldn't be too difficult, NV goggles are a feature in base SS13 and you already have crates so most of it would be copypastaing.

+1, maybe make it 1 nv scope and 1 nv goggles per crate, since they would completely negate a big advantage of the xenos, being able to hide.

We have a suggestion, similar to this, it's about buffing the sniper really.

This idea could tie into it instead of snoflaeking it onto just the spec sniper.

+1 for spec starting with NV gear.

MASSIVE -1 for orderable NV goggles. Because they'll never go away, and soon you got 15 pairs on the field, and that's horrible.

If it costs 70 points a crate, you'll get 5 crates roughly, meaning 10 scopes and 15 goggles, at the exclusion of anything and everything else like turrets, mines, spec ammo, grenades, ect.
