Yes, on paradise station when I started out and did not understand the rules.

I was slashing the feet and legs of captured marines to keep them from escaping from their nests

This is my first ban and appeal

I'm trying to explore the role as xeno since most of the other roles on station that I want to play ,such as a medic, don't have many people willing to teach me where as the xenos seem pretty open on helping each other. I did read the rules prior to my first time playing the role although I did not entirely understand what a nested host was at the time and I could only guess what being infected meant. When I started learning the drone role I was often put to the task of nesting people that were caught. The issue I had was I am often the one guarding the nest, and thus for anybody who got up from my nests I had to put them down and strap them to the nest again, except if after the second I get to the nest, I get shot with a shotgun and then usually die. I started to get weary of dying that way so I tried slashing the captured to where they could not run away or stayed blacked out, and not in the intent to kill them. I know the rule forbids slashing of hosts because its a way of being counter intuitive to the hive but I think that it should add on that its unfair to the player playing the captured. It prevents them from getting their slim chance of escaping which if I was playing a marine I would very much like to have.
Anyways to conclude, it seems that I keep on running into the issue of not understanding what certain terms mean on servers rules lists mainly because I have not previously played the game. Although in this context I had the sufficient amount of information just not the event of connecting my experience to what I read when I first started. I would love to play the xeno role again because people seem to be much more friendly there and much more helpful when learning the role.

This is somewhat unrelated to your appeal, but if you ever have any questions in game about anything, just ahelp it with F1. If there's a free mentor online, they'd be glad to teach you the basics of the game/of a role. It's a lot better to ask if you don't understand something than fucking it up later.

Well that helps explain what a mentor is. I have always seen it in the AdminWho action but never understood what it was for. Thanks for the advice I'll give it a try
