Well, I cannot deny, I did go planetside, but I did have some semblance of a reason to do so. A marine came up strange on the scanners at the medical bay, which I only noticed /after/ he was just leaving, and making his way down to be taken planetside. He'd come in regarding something about his appendix, which in fact, was non-existent, though the medic that had brought him in kept insisting that it was a MEDICAL EMERGENCY that he lacked one entirely, so I mostly dismissed him completely.

When I did realise what was odd, I ran after him, and it turned out he had just gone down and was setting up at the lz, so, I took it upon myself to take the shuttle down to request he came back up. Granted, I should have probably talked to him on comms first, but it was in the heat of the moment.

When I did make it down there, he'd gone off into the wilds, and I didn't want to take myself any further than the FOB, so I went to sit on a chair and await the shuttle coming back. Then, unfortunately, my internet went out due to a storm, and didn't come back on for a long while after.

So, yes, I accept full responsibility for the fact that I shouldn't really have gone planetside at all, but I did soon realise my mistake, and in my defence, it was an emergency. The sudden onset SSD wasn't my fault at all, however.

Don't remember ever disposaling myself, and I dont remember the SSD roundstart as medic, but, it may well have been for a similar reason. Out where I live, my internet goes down often. It hasn't been an issue too commonly as of late, but it's still something that happens sometimes.

You shouldn't have gone planetside without permission. That wasn't job-ban worthy.
It was going SSD planetside that was.

My concern, is that if you have unstable internet and you grab important roles and put them in dangerous positions then disconnect, you are locking players who won't do that from playing the roles and supporting the marines.

I agree, but as I said, my internet has been more stable as of late, and if I'm aware that something might cause it to go down soon, like a storm or such, I wont pick roles that are in short supply like that.
