Griefing Ban

Post by Felix » 24 Dec 2017, 00:28

Your Byond ID: LAETRELLE DeDARIOUSNESS

Character Name: Felix Baumenhosen

Type Of Ban (Job-ban, Timed Ban, Permaban): Timed Ban - Griefing

Admin who banned you (if known): apophis775

Total Ban Duration: 7 Days

Remaining Duration: 7 Days

What other servers do you play on? Yogstation

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones? None

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): "Griefing - shot up a doctor" no error code was shown.

Link to previous appeals for the same ban (if applicable): N/A

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): I chose to play as an RO for the first time. As I was getting my bearings on how to rp the role, someone launched a rocket into Requsitions. This not only killed a fellow RO but it tore a hole into the hull of the ship. Following this was another rocket attack on Requisitions where both RO terminals were destroyed. After the ship hull was patched I was left alone, trying to bring some semblance of order back to Requisitions. Soon Marines from all squads began climbing the broken glass and helping themselves to frag grenades, HDEP 40 grendades, and silencers. I used my radio to ask the CMP if lethal force was allowed to stop looting Marines, and I was told it was authorized. Yet before anything could be done a doctor with a lightsabre rushed into Requisitions and mangled me. He ended up apologizing and fixing me up so I continued to guard REQ. Soon other MP's joined my cause, issuing a shoot-on-sight order. I ended up wounding two Marines who were in the process of stealing and began inspecting the singularity that had spawned at the main entrance. Things were seemingly quieting down, until ANOTHER doctor rushed into Requisitions and tried to steal a shotgun. I fired on sight as I had been told to do and stopped him from looting the shotgun, which is when I was subsequently banned for "GRIEFING".

Futhermore, I didn't see any bans for the people who blew holes into the hull and killed my fellow RO's. I feel that this is a very unjust ban on my behalf, considering everything that happened at the start of the round.

This was because he decapitated a doctor shortly after I said "STOP GRIEFING AND KILLING EACH OTHER, NEXT PEOPLE TO DO SO GET 10 DAY BANS".

That was the warning. Perhaps, you should have Ahelped or called for security. Not taken matters into your own murderous hands.

Security was there with me. I mentioned that in my post, shoot-on-sight orders were issued for looters. I was rping a dangerously out of control situation by playing a by-the-books RO defending Requisitions, and following orders.

It seems completely arbitrary that you would sit by and watch people blast holes into the ships hull, kill Officers, and run amuck with looted explosives & light sabers, only to issue the warning AFTER requisitions turned into Remember The Alamo. Not to mention the lone RO (me) left wounded, still trying to defend the integrity of the ship from rampant looting and terrorist-level destruction -- is painted as "murderous".

Thanks,

I guess.

We weren't "sitting by and watching people blasting holes into the ship". We were fixing the holes, ahealing wounded people, and banning griefers.

You should have Ahelped, not gunned someone down. Maybe if you didn't feel the need to enact justice in your own hands as an RO, you'd not have gotten a ban. Because, what you did, was out of your own rage and anger at the situation and it's not acceptable behavior on CM. Staff were working as fast and best as we could to get the situation calmed down. You executing people was not helping the situation. And remember, you are not supposed to follow orders that break the rules, and "Free for all shooting looters" is not a order that can be given without breaking the rules.

This appeal is denied.
