Total Ban Duration: I believe it was for 24 hours or a few days after which I was to put in an appeal but I never did.

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones?

Reason for ban: I was playing as MP and used unauthorised lethal force when trying to catch someone who kept trying to run away. This was likely about a year ago so I don't remember the exact situation but I believe I had picked the pistol up after a marine had dropped it and because it was in my hand I used it. I realise that this was a mistake and I shouldn't have done it.

You seem to have put your appeal in your ban reason. If you realize what you did was wrong, you should be able to state which rules you broke in the appeal then.
You haven't caused issue besides the name recently and have been fairly active recently, so if you can say how you should be handling arrests there shouldn't be too much issue in lifting it.

Well I should have been following Marine Law in the first instance, so I should have detained the CE following regular protocol (inform him of arrest, handcuff etc.) and when he resisted I should have used only non-lethals as he was not dangerous. Obviously I didn't do this and as I was playing MP Marine Law applied to me more than normal.

I also broke the first Marine-specific rule about lethal force.

I understand this a bit more now that I've played the game more.

Well as an MP I would have to follow the CMP's orders, but assuming the CMP had decided it was correct to act they would be taken into custody following normal procedures. Either put into brig for the duration of their punishment and the next officer in line would take command for that period or if they were perma brigged then the next in line would take over permanently.

On the other thought. What CMP HAS TO DO when he arrests CO?

You don't really need to answer specific questions about it Marine Law, but have you actually read over it? You're going to need to know the basic parts while playing MP. You're probably going to want to have Marine Law open in a background tab anyways. If you don't read it, you're going to get yourself banned again at one point and it's going to be a lot harder to get lifted the second time.

Yes I've read over marine law on the wiki, and like you said if I do play MP again I'll have it open for reference so I don't repeat the same mistake.
