Okay, before I even get started, I just want to say that if I had known who banned me for this, I would have made it into an Admin Complaint. Whoever banned me did so out of pure spite, and he banned me even after I complied with his warning to stop talking about the situation.

Now, what ended up happening is I was talking in the discord, like I usually do every now and then. The Resignation from Apop came in, and me and some other players were discussing it in #shitposting. Now, this wasn't a heated conversation with really strong opinions or anything, or something that got out of control that required admin intervention. We were discussing the evidence regarding the accusations, we were agreeing on things, and we were generally talking like how we normally do. Now, after a while, the discord moderator, along with another staff member, told me to "Shut the fuck up". I thought it was interesting, but I decided it must have been a sore topic and I ended up being quiet about it. Things went like usual for a while longer, before I noticed that I got straight up banned from the discord. I found this confusing, because I hadn't done anything to warrant it in the first place. Not only did I comply and stop talking about the situation, but the admin who banned me decided out of total venom to ban me over what literally boils down to an opinion. I wasn't harassing, or ridiculing, we were simply talking about it. I would have read the discord rules to ensure that I didn't somehow end up accidentally tripping over a rule and breaking it, but I'm 100 % certain that I haven't broken a single rule regarding to what I was banned for and what I said in #shitposting. I feel as if this ban is undeserved, and if you check the logs in #shitposting you will see that I did not continue talking about the topic after the warning.

I would have pulled logs, or screenshotted, but I'm banned from the server so I can't do anything like that.

Upgraded to a ban since i read the rest of his comments. A real fucking number this guy.

I'll ask the banning staff member to comment on this appeal regarding the matter, but it seemed in their opinion to cross a line which made it worth banning for. People are using the resignation and events as an excuse to do nothing other than to cause more trouble and you seem to have been caught in the matter if you were actually respectful in your comments.

I read what he wrote previously about it and it was mostly bringing reddit topic up about Apop despite numerous players telling him to knock it off. Calling Apop weak for stepping down despite the severe repercussions if this got to place he works at.
I told him to "shut the fuck up" when i saw other players telling him the same, then i went back into the logs saw that
so i went for the ban

Was it hasty and rash, definitely. But everyone on the discord knew we were giving out bans with little to no warning that day if you tried to stir up drama.

There is no logs of me calling Apop 'weak'.

There was no numerous players telling me to knock it off, only you and the discord mod telling me to "shut the fuck up".

It was hasty, rash and unprofessional. The log suggests that you stewed on the issue and decided to ban out of spite regardless of the fact that I stopped talking about the topic as soon as I was told to.

Also, considering that this took place only a short while after the resignation was even posted (I think it was maybe 30 minutes or more afterwards), How could I possibly have known that discussing the issue would suddenly get you a discord permaban ?

"Warned Outboaduniform#7886 for shit stirring with the reddit circlejerk thread." Reddit was only mentioned due to most of the evidence regarding to the accusations being posted there. There was no attempt at 'shit stirring' and no mention of a 'circlejerk thread'.

Is being told to "shut the fuck up" considered a legitimate staff warning as well ? I find that to be somewhat invalid.

Right, you'll get a second chance on Discord, so don't blow it. We got a lot of shitty people for Apop's retire so even if you weren't being extreme, it could have come off as such. Just try not to cause any problems. Resolved - Discord ban lifted.
