Permaban Appeal Nyoz

Post by Graffy » 12 Jul 2018, 22:11

Your Byond ID: Nyoz

Character Name:Natalia 'Hellcat' Belluci

Type Of Ban (Job-ban (include the job), Timed Ban, Permaban):Permaban

Admin who banned you (if known):Banned by host

Total Ban Duration:Permanent

Remaining Duration:Permanent

What other servers do you play on? Lebensraum,Yogstation,Fallout Outcasts

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones? I have been banned on Yogstation twice and that's all the bans i know about.

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned):Banned by host: G6JUN18 - Multikeying, ban evading

Link to previous appeals for the same ban (if applicable): viewtopic.php?f=87&t=17433&p=202762&hil ... a0#p202762

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): During the last month I've had time to realize why my ban was inevitable and necessary. While I did an important move to get into the clear by stepping towards the right direction through pointing out the issue, I also noticed that I couldn't simply "free" myself from punishment that way solely.
So here I am, appealing again, because honestly I've missed playing on the server and getting in touch with the players a lot. While that might appear like a short timespan to some people surely, the thing that I enjoyed with CM the most was just to create memorable moments with others while playing. If it is great roleplaying or doing cheeky moves by flanking some marines/xenomorphs with others or similar. And for me there is no greater setting for roleplaying other than Colonial Marines to create those memories.
While I can only assure you with my word, that I'll not repeat my mistake in any manner, I hope I can get a chance to prove that I've learned my lesson.

I think you need to sit on this ban for quite a while longer. Due to the Ban not being finalized you have played as recently as 6/10 Making your total ban time only about a month. You were caught multikeying and evading. I think you need to sit on this for a few months at least.

Reminder that this player went to me about this ban when nobody had realized it anytime before. Admitted to multikeying and ban evading which led to their permaban as I talked to them.
Their English is decent enough but not the best, and they seemed to have put effort into their appeal. Remaining impartial as I was involved in this.
I'm not crazy, you're crazy.

Nicknamed 'Clover,' 'Lover,' and... well I'd rather not say.
If I notice you, good job. It means you're probably worth my time.

I'm neutral on this one. I don't mind if it's lifted and believe we have good reason to keep it in place.
Player PM from player/(Larva (247)) (?): It's totally realistic to challenge someone to do boxing for a mouse trap, in the middle of a alien occupation.

I'm a bit neutral on this as well, leaning negative. I feel like the fact that you admitted to multikeying and ban evading (if what Aceluke says is correct.) Then that is actually a heavy plus in my eyes, then again, you actually did ban evade and multikey, and admitting to the mistake is hardly grounds for being all forgiven.

I feel as if you should sit on this ban a little while longer, it feels a bit too soon to be appealing a perma. My mind could be changed if you had other servers to vouch for your behavior, but in what manner do we know you won't attempt to multikey or ban evade again? That is a serious offense. Your appeal mostly just compliments the server and doesn't explain much else. Admitting to your mistake was a good move, and it may help you appeal this ban easier in the future, but i'm of the opinion you should wait a bit more.

I'm curious, do you know which specifics rules you broke? Besides the multikey, your history isn't that great either. How will you improve going forward in your behavior? You have quite a bit of history of low rp.

In my understanding the rules I broke (regarding this particular ban or not) are as follows:
► Show Spoiler
-> Lethal Force, since I have used a inappropriate and exaggerated action against the marine.
Maybe should have tried to simply get the attention and help of fellow marines (and possibly MP later) to stop him without using that kind of force.
And after all a booze dispenser (if ordered by command or not) is not as important as the health and life of an actual human character.
► Show Spoiler
-> Most probably (low) Roleplaying, since it's hardly likeable that a Marine in CM would ever request that. Apart from that it could be offending other people (Don't be a Dick).
► Show Spoiler
-> Lethal Force, kinda the same as above. Should've simply contacted MP about it.
► Show Spoiler
-> Lethal Force and Act like your given role. Looking at it now I guess no CL would've taken the course of action that I did, as it's pretty much suicidal and bad for the company he represents.
► Show Spoiler
-> Act like your given role and Roleplaying. I suppose both apply, since it was low roleplaying in general and also something a Xenomorph would never suggest. It's rather Act like your given role in my view though.
► Show Spoiler
-> Ban Evading and Multikeying
► Show Spoiler
-> I played a few matches while my last application was processed. Should've just not done that and waited more patient. I can see how this doesn't help my situation at all.

Apart from that, I have to say that my intention wasn't to praise the server or it's members to heaven. Honestly I simply miss playing a lot and the reason for evading my previous ban was simply that I felt it unjust at that time and was kinda impatient on it, which is why I chose this stupid course of actions in the first place.
While it's not an excuse at all, I'm simply hoping that I'll be able to play again.

But I can assure you that I've learned that evading a ban just causes more trouble than if I would've just appealed the first one, since even some staff members on the former post agreed that it was a bit harsh (I'm referring to the job-bans on my other account Graffy).

Regarding my behavior I think It's important that I learned the rules by now and will stick with them as best as I am able to. I'm trying to learn from my past mistakes and will especially empathize more with the roles I'm playing and the setting in general, so that there will be no more Third Reich references or actions that lead to excessive harm of my own or another character without very good reasons.

Alright, so I should probably get this in-depth and answer this directly.

The player went to me about how to get unbanned and how to deal with job bans on the forums when it comes to this sort of thing. I got a bit confused as I thought their c-key was a different one than they gave me. They admitted to the situation that they switched accounts due to the fact they got job banned for everything due to a single mistake. Personally I have to state that this is something I completely am against and if I was staff at the time would have probably gone to a higher up due to the way the ban was handled. Though due to circumstances I dont think I could have done much.

While I can admit that this still doesn't make what they did fine in any manner and I am not saying I approve of ban evading and multikeying. As a player, there is not much that can be expected of them if they suddenly find they have nothing to do and are not comfortable with forum handling.

The act in my own view isn't intentionally malicious. This is evident by the fact they went to moderating staff about the job ban which is the only reason they probably got caught in the first place. Then asked me how to handle appealing this likely due to their English speaking ability not being completely fluent. Though it appears they did rather well on the appeal. The permaban request was merely a formality as I don't expect the player to be malicious or try to intentionally break rules and expect to get away with it in the future if they are unbanned.

While other staff believe it should stay for longer, I am against it being a multi-month process due to the circumstances of their ban and the way they came to me about it.

You logged into Graffy on the 10th of June and then logged out and back into Nyoz right afterwards. The fact you were willing to log back in with account after you got told you could be getting a perma for multikey is ridiculous and shows I don't think you really care about breaking the multikey rule so this is denied.

Resolved - Denied; using multiple keys during a round after making an appeal on mulitkey.
Ban Appeal Users: If I've lifted your perma ban and you're still unable to log onto the server, send me a forum PM regarding it and I'll work to get it fixed in ~24 hours.

Emerald Blood: CM's mommy and the only head staff who does anything. Even though I hate you all sometimes, I still love you.
