I like causing mayhem in online games (why I play xeno!) and unfortunately this personality trait does bleed over into REEing and band dodging to REE some more. But there's no way around this ban even with my like 20 burner alts so I humbly apologize and ask for a final chance to dunk on the marines. (legitamately)

No but seriously this is the only anonymous place on the internet with actual rules, it's pretty darn unusual. Also i suck at RP, but I'll try harder. Also I did do my best as a xeno, I had a four hour queen round and dragged many coma sisters from the fire and i don't think i ever bullied anyone or ruined anyone's game (other than that dude that spent three minutes cutting through resin walls to get face slammed, oh man). I also made some github suggestions that people liked? (maybe?) Also at the time of my ban I had a lot of IRL stuff going on and was kind of cruising for a ban tbh, didn't know you could request a cryo lock out from mods. next time I'll do that (sorry!)

We are not the only place online with rules where we dont know your name.
Reddit has rules and is anonymous so are 50 other websites.
And I am still not seeing anything that says to me. YEAH, lets unban this guy.

Eh. I don't think this is a very well put together appeal.

Which in my eyes surmounts to:

I like shitting around and not caring about rules.
I got banned and thought lol fuck you I'm going to use more accounts.

I personally don't give my support to the appeal but you should work with the admins and give all associated ckeys for them to investiagte. The more you put effort into helping them investigate the more it shows you are willing to put the effort in.

That is correct.

I honestly don't know. I would make burner accounts using burner emails from fakemailgenerator and just plug them in. There may have been one called "Dove Eater." I don't think I was ever actually able to get around the ban with any of them so perhaps it's moot?

Let me rephrase, this is the only place with rules - that I cannot circumvent.

So, as for why to let me back in, like I said, I don't think I ever ruined anyone's game and actually was pretty proactive when being a xeno when I could contain the memes. As for incentives, uh, if I don't obey the rules I'll get I assume super permabanned forever so that's an incentive for good behavior. Would you be willing to give a strict probation so I can prove good faith? Otherwise I don't have anyway to prove it.

Truthfully I do not. I just tried to login with "Dove Eater" and that didn't work.

What I would do is make a new byond account with a random name with a fakemail email and login to see if it would get around the ban on Marine Ticker - it never would. I would do this every two weeks or month or so to get into CM when I remembered about the game or I saw something cool in the changelog. I never actually could defeat this ban, at either of my computers (two different login locations)

Now so much cool stuff has been added - it's driving me crazy. There are tanks now! AAAARGHGGH PLEASE LET ME BACK IN I'll BE GOOD! ZERO TOLERANCE PROBATION, MAKE ME SPAWN WITHOUT A MOUTH! JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE ;_;

yeah it was eight months ago so I legitmately forgot it. Yeah Death/Doom/Hell Account were the first three I used when I first discovered the game and was getting instagibbed in matches (as both xeno and marine) and was just plugging in over and over to try to learn. I served time for that

So you have at least 10 accounts that we found. And you admit, albeit jokingly, that you have around 20 of them. And then you go on to more or less say that the only real reason you are appealing your ban is that you couldn't defeat the system with all your keys. Then you say you wont abuse our trust? What's the big deal?

The objective of the game is to rape face and melt bones.

But it offends your delicate sensibilities that, every two weeks or so, I plugged in a burner account to get around a ban institued for saying REE like three times?

Quite frankly perhaps this game is not for me afterall. Rather than evaluating my appeal on its merits and assuming good faith you just seem to be virtue signaling about how evil I am for DARING to breach your precious ban.

Need I remind you that your chief admin was not exactly the most morally just person? A strict adherance to what are ultimatimaley 100% arbitrary rules governing an artificial world does not make you a good person.

I was hoping that with new leadership in place a new era was beginning with less rigid and more well adjusted moderation but I guess not.

I don't think you understand the magnitude of the situation. You may not think that using a burner account to bypass a ban is a big deal but just about everyone else does.

Just the fact that you still stand behind doing it is enough for me to not give my support towards this appeal. Bans would lose their worth if you could just create a new account and begin your spree of shittery again, which is why I think you seem to have the mindset that the rules don't apply to you.

We have rules against ban evading for a very good reason, and you've attempted to multikey/ban evade repeatedly. Rules are quite simple, you can sit on this ban. -1

Yea, those names look familiar, I remember investigating this one. Just a heads up, it sounds like there's a bit of confusion with your permaban. That 10080 minute ban was supposed to just be a holdover until your permaban was processed (like normal), but due to delays it actually expired before the permaban was placed on February 15th (not normal). I don't believe the notes after January played a part as to why you were permabanned.

If you do want to play on this server, you need to abide by the rules. Even if you don't agree with all the rules wholeheartedly, you need to follow them. Maybe it would help to think of it like a "contract" that all players agree to when joining the server? Certainly, everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes are ban-worthy. For most people, this means waiting out the ban and/or making a ban appeal and complaining about it.
If you're so unwilling to follow the rules that you can't wait out the punishment time (and can't bear having notes on your account) for breaking them, it's a problem for us the staff team and the other players. It shows that you don't care about following the rules, and those rules certainly aren't 100% arbitrary. They keep the game structured while still allowing players the freedom to enjoy it. They're not perfect of course. There will always be fringe cases and mistakes; there will be (and have been) changes to the rules as we try to figure out what works better for everyone. This will be true during any "era" of leadership. Complaining about the "chief admin", complaining about the moderation team, you're missing the point.

You made a fairly serious mistake, you need to understand that it was a fairly serious mistake, and most importantly you need to not make that mistake again. Of course, like you said, an important part of not making that mistake again is having the chance to not make that mistake again. Your original notes aren't that bad, as long as you're willing to follow the rules properly and diligently, I think it would be fine to let you back in on probation. From what I've seen so far though, that probation wouldn't work out well for you. Your (poor) reaction to Grimcad's comment suggests that you're just not concerned enough about the rules and not willing to change, and to get through the probation ok you'll definitely have to be both.

If you're willing to reassess and rework your attitude towards the server and the rules (and how you respond to negative comments from the staff team too), I think it would be fine to give you another chance under a probationary period.

I apologize for losing my temper in regards to the response. The appeals process is inherently unfair to the appellant in that there is no way for them to prove their good faith, other than playing on other servers, which sorry I have no interest in. I was 100% honest in everything I had done and mean't it when I said I won't break the rules anymore. The response I got from everyone was basically, "too bad." This is frustrating, but again lashing out was unproductive so I apologize for it.

I do not take video games seriously. They are for causing mayhem and relaxing. It would be lie to tell you felt bad about breaking video game rules. I will never care about the rules outside of the "contract" you describe - you break them - you're out. I think it is wrong and unhealthy to care about things that aren't real. That's not a criticism it's just my opinion (maybe I'm wrong?). I think the "meta-drama" that has been enveloping this game lately is proof of what happens when people take unserious things too seriously. Beware!

Here is the truth though - this is the best video game I've ever played, tactically, strategically, it's great. I miss playing it. My job lately involves being glued to a computer waiting for things to go wrong to fix them. Things don't usually go wrong so I have quite a lot of spare time. It would be great to melt faces for 1 hour now and again to fill the gaps. Also, I want to blow up the tank at least once.

In conclusion, I state again - IF YOU LET ME BACK IN - I WON'T BREAK THE RULES ANYMORE - I'LL BE A GOOD PLAYER. I PROMISE IN GOOD FAITH TO NEVER BREAK THE CONTRACT AGAIN.
