Time for amnesty

Post by BeerMyFriend » 12 Aug 2018, 06:37

Your Byond ID: BeerMyFriend

Character Name: Alexey 'BODA' Efentev

Type Of Ban (Job-ban (include the job), Timed Ban, Permaban): Permaban.

Admin who banned you (if known): Feweh

Total Ban Duration: Permanently.

Remaining Duration: Permanently.

What other servers do you play on? Lifeweb, Animus, Infinity

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones? Don't have any ban elsewhere, just on CM

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): B11JUN17 - Constant meta-comms, powergaming

Link to previous appeals for the same ban (if applicable): -

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): Though it happened a long ago, I can assure you that I didn't deserve my meta-comms ban, I was, in fact, banned without any evidence. I don't have any claims regarding my powergame ban, and I do confirm that sometimes I have used some forbidden game mechanics, but nothing more. In conclusion I can say that I had a whole year to rethink my actions, and I can assume you that I won't do any mistakes anymore.

First off, here are your notes:
► Show Spoiler
But, let's focus on some of the more interesting ones.
► Show Spoiler
You were obviously well-known for meta-comming with Fert by this point. Trying to deny that you were now is sort of pointless, don't you think?

Well. The whole story may sound believable, But if the moderators checked the game/chat logs, they would understand that there is no place for metacomms. Almost all actions were accompanied by a dialog, short, huge or simple chat macros, irrelevant. You may have the question "why with Boris", and the reason why I tried communicated with him in the game is simple - because he was more experienced and skillful than me. Yea I was a noobie and I looking for a "teacher", but it was not one person. I learned different mechanics of the game from different people using only ingame chat. But they noticed me only during the action with the Boris, It's a pity!

We give leeway to players learning the game from others in LOOC to an extent but severe breaches of meta communication results in punishment.

So basically do you admit your guilt and if so what have you done to ensure you won't break our rules again?

Yes, I admit that I was wrong. I promise I will not repeat those mistakes and won't be breaking rules in future.

So you admit you were metacomming with Boris after stating in your appeal that you weren't and re-affirming that you were not when questioned about it the first time?

No, as I stated previously, we were just ingame buddies. It's a common thing on CM, as far as I know. I only admit that I was using a lot of powergaming strategies and that I wasn't the best person while talking to admin team.
I also read current rules and they became easier to understand so I'm sure I won't get in trouble more.

As someone who moderated back before you got permabanned I'm not buying for a second that you and Fert were in no way not metacomming, if you actually weren't then I'd be very surprised and you were very unlucky. So as someone who believes that you were metacomming you not admitting it just doesn't work. That's without even going into your powergaming history.

After reading your replies to my colleagues, I cannot support this appeal either at this time so its a -1 from me also.

Perma bans are the lowest priority on staff to do list. It'll be resolved when someone has time to get around to it

Resolved - Denied; You had 6 warnings on meta-comms alone with clearly no intent on getting better. Even still you try to refute that you were causing any problems, which means you're unlikely to have changed. I'd suggest you reapply when another server can vouch for you being a better player.
Ban Appeal Users: If I've lifted your perma ban and you're still unable to log onto the server, send me a forum PM regarding it and I'll work to get it fixed in ~24 hours.

Emerald Blood: CM's mommy and the only head staff who does anything. Even though I hate you all sometimes, I still love you.
