EORG Appeal

Post by Gugulliver » 28 Aug 2018, 10:26

Your Byond ID: Gugulliver

Character Name: Pontes de Miranda

Type Of Ban (Job-ban (include the job), Timed Ban, Permaban): Timed Ban

Admin who banned you (if known): themusician123

Total Ban Duration: 180 minutes

Remaining Duration:

What other servers do you play on?: Played on /tg/ and baystation some time ago with other account

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones? No

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): EORG

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): It was the end of the round and there was aliens on the main ship. After the round over message, an alien jumped on a marine near me. Me and some other marines shot and killed the alien. I probably shot it more than I should since i'm new and I don't know when they are truly dead and I think i got banned because the admin thought I was shotting left and right for no porpuse.

Notes:
► Show Spoiler
Generating any friendly fire at round end is an automatic ban, and seeing that you already had a previous ban the same day, I see that it's escalated. What you say sounds reasonable, but when we see the logs we take immediate action.

It's best to ahelp saying "Xenos, sorry" or something similar if you do shoot at Xenos after round end and hit a marine

I didn't even had the time to type anything after the Alien attack. The ban came too fast.
Also, I'm pretty sure this is my first ban I get over here, second on SS13. I got the 180 minutes ban 2 hours ago.
My ban will be auto lifted in 1 hour by the looks of it but I hitting the marine was a complete accident.

Yeah, EORG is pretty automatically applied, if we have alot of EORG going on we can't spend the time delaying the round end for everyone just to investigate and process every one incident.

To play it extra super duper safe, just don't shoot after round end. It may not be worth getting a 3 hour ban for just shooting a wall and someone getting hit by a stray bullet.

Guess I'll have this advice in mind from now on.
But you gotta understand it's reasonable to shoot an xeno jumping in a marine seconds after an round ended.
Again, the ban time is really short but I don't really feel comfortable with that ban note looming on my account as it could be understood as something much worse than what I did.
Also, could you clarify for me that longer time ban? It was applied before or after the 3 hours one? Does that mean that after the 3 hour ban is lifted im gonna be banned for that more time?

Resolved?

Secondary 24-hour EoRG ban removed, Primary 3-hour ban auto-expired.

If there is an alien and you are shooting at it, please be sure to ahelp it ASAP to ensure we know about it, If at worst, we can always find out via logs.
