Job ban appeal.

Post by UntoldTictacs » 30 Oct 2018, 00:45

Your Byond ID: UntoldTactics

Character Name: Adam 'Tictacs' Taylor

Type Of Ban (Job-ban (include the job), Timed Ban, Permaban): Job Ban: RO, CT.

Admin who banned you (if known): Imperator_Titan.

Total Ban Duration: Permanent with the ability to appeal.
Remaining Duration: N/A

What other servers do you play on? Baystation 12, Aurora station.

Are you now or have you been banned on any servers? Which ones? Yes, Oracle station.

Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): Long story short, was a CT, ended up attacking the brig with a group of people, the reason being we thought the MP's were illegally executing someone, or something along the lines of such, I was the first person to attack with a miniflamer shotgun (also armed with incind slugs) it occurred quite a bit ago. The entire thing is detailed in this player report that was resolved. viewtopic.php?f=71&t=18485

Link to previous appeals for the same ban (if applicable): N/A

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc):
Well firstly, I obviously did a very wrong thing, at the time I wasn't thinking too much about it, there isn't much for me to say. I cannot remember the events much at all now, but from what I do remember, at the time I thought my actions were justified, and obviously they were not, I have learnt that, and I do respect how the game works in punishment In Character wise, and I recognize why my justification was wrong, when I received the punishment, and was informed of the player report, I took my time and read through what I did, and why I did it through my head, and realized I obviously handled the whole 'situation' wrong, as I noticed I started the actual fight in the Brig, with the miniflamer armed shotgun. At the time I thought that execution wasn't a punishment that could occur for the crimes that the people being executed committed, which is why I involved myself, I later learnt that to be very false. Really, I do not have much to say, other then I am sorry for what I have done, I know why I was punished, and why what I did was wrong. During the time I have been banned from requisitions I learnt more on Marine Law, and have improved in my handling of situations ICly, and I strive to make sure I don't make any mistakes like this again, and so far I believe I have succeeded in doing such.

So to end this short appeal, I'll basically say i'm sorry for the trouble caused in that round, and for the time spent resolving the situation after the round, as I know that staff are quite busy, and reports take a while to handle, and I will and continue to strive to prevent any mistake on this scale coming from me ever again.

I would be fine with CT ban being lifted.
Do you understand the reason you received the ban, and how will you avoid a situation like this in the future?
Staying neutral, for now.

Yes I do, I understand why I received the ban from the positions, and I can simply avoid putting myself in a position where I have to get involved with such conflict situations, and if I ever do, I will make sure there is a good reason behind it, and that it isn't something that breaks the rules in any way or form.

Nice appeal, no history of wrongdoings in with requisition jobs and very active player. +1
Player PM from player/(Larva (247)) (?): It's totally realistic to challenge someone to do boxing for a mouse trap, in the middle of a alien occupation.

It seems like your position as a cargo tech was incidental in this situation. I mean, it doesn't sound like you being a cargo tech instead of a squad marine was significant. You probably would have attacked the guy either way, just with different tools. Since the real issue seems to be that you attacked the victim at all (as opposed to the issue being that you attacked someone as a cargo tech/using cargo tech tools or whatever), I think it would be fine to unjobban you from CT, perhaps even RO. You also seem sincere in your reflection of the issue and your commitment to not breaking the rules again, which is a plus.
TLDR: Go back and read it. I spent time writing that, ya know.

Appeal Approved, I see no legitimate reason why you should have been banned from CT or RO since the actions you took would of most likely still happened if you wasn't a CT or RO, Though in a different way and with different tools as Ordukai has said. As long as you realise that you have indeed broken the rules and are willing to abide by them from now on, Then I see no more reason to keep you banned from part of the game.

Appeal Granted, CT and RO jobbans lifted.
