Sticky appeal

Post by Motochad » 17 Jun 2015, 20:07

Byond ID:Motochad

Character name:William Hudson

Admin who banned you:vrai

Initial duration:like 2 hours or something

Duration remaining:permanent

Reason for ban:suicide at LO line, then a hardware for multikey

Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots):
I use a lot of keys for a lot of different servers and I have joined CM on the wrong key before (and promptly fixed the incorrect key because I didn't wanna set my character up again), but what I didn't notice is you guys have auto ban evasion bans when players use multiple keys. This was usually not an issue but since I was checking my ban duration remaining and I didn't remember that I had switched my keys I got stickied. I would like to have the ban lifted as it was a mistake on my part.

multikeying, is strictly forbidden in our rules.

If we unban you, what gurantee do we have, that if you die, you won't logout, and switch to a new key to play as a marine again?

Well, if it helps I can daily check him for multiple CKeys.

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

I guess the best guarantee I can provide is word, but I don't really enjoy playing marine that much because of the way helmets worked, it always bothered me. And if someone is willing to babysit me I guess that works too.

Edit : Actually on second thought, the only thing stopping me from mkeying past a death is the servers administration. Given the automatic detection already tagged me on my mistake I think we both have total faith that the staff will catch me if I try to swap keys to dodge a death if I had the motivation to in the first place.

The system catching you right now, only works, when your banned.

But you have your administration team to catch me if and when I'm not banned, of course.

Yeah, Given the fact that you were sticky banned is a bit disconcerting given how hard it is to really know that you won't do it again, I will think it over but to be honest I don't think your gonna be coming back

The point I'm trying to make is that if I were to multikey maliciously I would get stickied anyways.
I have, on my word, no intent to and the only reason I had been stickied in the first place was because of a mistake on my part and I guess I'm asking for the benefit of the doubt, a second chance, and a note I guess.
