Banned for Griefing

Post by shogoman123 » 18 Jun 2015, 20:49

Beyond ID:Shogoman123

Character name:Will Hudson

Admin who banned you:Don't remember

Initial duration:3 hours

Duration remaining:3 hours

Reason for ban:"Greifing" a character who was AFK for a while, and committing suicide

Your appeal, including evidence (an www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots):
I had been a medic and started doing some chemical work, I took some pills I made and got a little jittery. I decided to play it out and got a circular saw and went to Cryo. I stood over an AFK guy for almost 30 seconds (More than enough time to run, he didn't even talk) and then tore up at his head. I put the saw in my surgical case and walked out. Then Commander Pink approached me and said I killed the guy. I lied and he said I heard it. I ran back to Cryo, took out the saw, and used it on my head. The admin then contacted me and said why I did it. I said I was on drugs. He then said I was griefing, and I said I didn't. I then got the three hour ban. That's my side of the story. He could have TOLD me he was going to ban me, but just didn't. That was not fair. That was like someone you didn't know was there shot you, not fair. And one hour would have been enough, maybe one and a half, but THREE? That's insane!

I banned you. Here's our conversation:
► Show Spoiler
I stand by my ban, and I won't repeat myself to a doctor that believes it's okay to kill someone because they are braindead.

Here's the actual reason for ban:

Code: Select all

3-hour ban. General Rule 1 Violation (Griefing). Killed a braindead after taking drugs. As a first offender, I was willing to let this one go with a note and a warning, but he decided to insist that his actions were not griefing. by Juninho77 (TrialModerator) on Thu, June 18th of 2015
Edited:
I am now okay with this ban getting lifted.

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

I don't think I ever wrote that on your ban reason. I don't know how you came up with that.

The thing is, depending on how serious the rule violation was, we give warnings to people instead of bans. That is especially true for first offenders. I was willing to let you go with a warning, but warnings only work if the warned party is actually listening.

Well, if you are actually willing to listen, I am okay with the ban getting lifted.

I can't lift it myself as a trialmoderator, though, so you will have to hope an admin sees this and decides to lift it.

Eh. It's less than 24 hours and you couldn't wait 3 hours.

My thoughts on this is to let his time run out. We're getting a rise of grey tide. As well, what you did was excessive.

If I were online I would have likely job banned you from Sulaco Medic.

This ban has expired now but it should remain on his record.

The Sulaco Medic job is not for making drugs and going around killing people because you are high.

What you did is clearly greifing as you used lethal force against an uninvolved party without any RP whatsoever or consent between both parties.

Keep in mind that you as a character are in the Colonial Marines. It is not normal behavior for a marine (Sulaco Medics are still part of the marines) to get high and kill each other.

Yeah... This ban has expired and to be honest 3 hours... I think you could have waited mate, Anyway this will be moved in approximately 8 hours, This will remain on your record still as killing braindead marines as a marine is still considered grief
