"End Round Grief"
Beyond ID: Tfwdynamicip
Character name: Tay
Admin who banned you: Ordukai
Initial duration: 3 hours
Duration remaining: 2.6
Reason for ban: "End Round Grief"
Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots): I have no evidence but the admin who banned me must have witnessed everything. This is more of a set of questions related to my ban; if someone is shooting you at the end of the round, and you shoot back, does that constitute a ban without warning? I mean seriously, if you take people failing to role play at the end of the round seriously, then why do you penalize anyone who shoots back?
I know it's a short ban, but the rules don't state anything about shooting back at someone on an end of game rampage. Consider this constructive criticism.

Re: "End Round Grief"
If you shoot back, it becomes more difficult to be able to determine who started the fight, and easily spirals out of control.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Re: "End Round Grief"
I wasn't the only one involved in this incident, two people were originally shooting each other and by the end, over four were involved. If I was banned, then I presume the others were banned too. I've seen this happen more than once over the last few days, and since there's no clarification in the rules about shooting back, it keeps happening.Biolock wrote:If you shoot back, it becomes more difficult to be able to determine who started the fight, and easily spirals out of control.
The 'Ban first, ask questions later' approach isn't helping.

There's no excuse to griefing in the end of the round. I'll have you know that

How is it griefing if you shoot back at someone pumping you with bullets?UnknownMurder wrote:There's no excuse to griefing in the end of the round. I'll have you know that

Re: "End Round Grief"
Anyone who fights after the round end (exception: Marines Vs Aliens) is considered "griefing".

Re: "End Round Grief"
So either you let them kill you, or get banned. It goes without saying that the rules do not state this enough, which is why people keep getting caught up in it. Again, in this incident alone, four people got involved. Even if they have read the rules, they are still left in a grey area because they do not consider shooting back as an act of griefing. The term griefing is usually associated with trolling, so if the people shooting back do not have the same intent as the griefer, they don't see themselves in the wrong. The rule itself clearly mentions player intent: "the perceived intent of one player wanting to cause grief to other players or to the server without any roleplay or reason."apophis775 wrote:Anyone who fights after the round end (exception: Marines Vs Aliens) is considered "griefing".
The rules in their current state have a large grey area; if you indent on keeping the reference to a player's intent, then you must clearly state that shooting back is also considered and act of griefing.

Re: "End Round Grief"
You brought this upon yourself by only adding and making the end round grief worse by replying back with more violence thus not only breaking the rules but spamming our attack logs even more than need be. This is only a 3 hour ban and I think you can wait that amount of time because it says quiet clearly in the rules that end round grief is not allowed. This will be moved in approximately 10 hours from this post. Denied

Re: "End Round Grief"
Unfortunately, I only caught what (according to you) is the tail end of this fight. I was wandering around the top level of the Sulaco as a ghost, and heard gunshots. When I went over, I saw you firing shots into people running around and past you. None of them were shooting back at you.
Acting upon this, and because the round was about to restart, I quickly grabbed your player info and put the ban through the next round.
I'm sorry if there was any confusion on your part, but for me, the course was clear. I saw you attacking people seemingly at random and made my decision based upon that.

TLDR: Go back and read it. I spent time writing that, ya know.
