Alpha Ban Appeal

Post by The Ultimate Chimera » 30 Jul 2015, 23:06

Beyond ID: The Ultimate Chimera

Character name: Brett Johnson

Admin who banned you: caryl

Initial duration: 4320 minutes

Duration remaining: 4320 minutes

Reason for ban: Breaching Sulaco, disobeying queen, ban evasion..

Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots): For one, I didn't breach the Sulaco, I also didn't ban evade, how was I ban evading? I didn't leave, nor was I ahelped about anything, and my friend came over and I was talking to him, so I went to the bathroom and I guess he came in and made me walk off the shuttle, I can understand the "disobeying queen" rule break, but I did not breach the sulaco or ban evade.

You did not walk off the shuttle. You fell to the surface of the planet which means one of two things. You either walked off the shuttle, exposing it to space, or you breached the Sulaco. I was informed you had breached the Sulaco, and made an attempt to contact you with no answer.

I attempted again to contact you, only this time I was given an automatic prompt that the user wasn't recognized, therefore I had to assume you had logged off. Now, Caryl carried out the ban on my behalf. At the very least you disobeyed the queen. Since you made a ban appeal so quickly, I can assume that you may have actually been on, and that I had no idea what I was doing.

Additionally, because of the events that transpired regarding the explosion, I couldn't prove that you breached the Sulaco even if you did. I'm willing to see the ban lowered to 3 hours for the disobeying of the queen, as I honestly do not buy the whole 'my friend came in and did it' excuse that so commonly happens on these ban appeals.

Alright, but a friend did come over. I was just standing still by the bridge doors, and I did leave the computer for quite some time, and I come back to see that I was banned. I have no idea how long it's been since that, but I did not breach. Other aliens were breaking the windows to place doors before I left though.

You missed nothing special. A researcher exploited a bug by placing 3 bombs on the floor where drop-pod and shuttle land. When shuttle landed the bombs spawned in shuttle, and they blew a giant hole in the Sulaco. Bomber was banned. Fun stuff.

Ah, I scrolled up the chat and saw some logs of aliens getting sucked in or something, that's as far as I could get.

That was the atmosphere trying to keep up with all the holes the bombs put in the Sulaco. It was chaos.

Is it possible to make the tiles so they can not be broken by explosions and such?

It is. We did that with the planet tiles, but we didn't do that to the Sulaco tiles. I'm not sure if we want to either in the case of an event. Dunno. IMO we shouldn't have to explosive-proof the tiles.
