CL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
Byond ID:bobbyhill420
Character name: CL that went planetside on start of round
Admin who banned you: sasoperative
Initial duration: Job Ban
Duration remaining: ???
Reason for ban: "Went planetside as CL with no orders on round start and went SSD."
Your appeal, including evidence (an http://www.imgur.com album is recommended for multiple screenshots):
I wasn't given enough time to finish round. This lead to me not being able to defend my actions, and I went SSD to get food. I had been warned as a researcher once because I didn't know you couldn't investigate the alien threat off of the Sulaco, and this instance created the job ban. I got to the planet and found a shack and locked myself in it. As CL I figured you had known about the planet so I knew I could make an outpost of sorts there. This is following one of those multiple hour stalemate rounds of which I died earlier on but still observed. I went down to the planet because the distress beacon was sent and I figured I should investigate on my own considering I had access to the dropship consoles. I actually sent the ship back up so it wouldn't be known I was investigating. This had been done in a similar fashion the previous round when the CO rounded up a squad and I happened to catch him in the hallway as the CL. I managed to stumble onto the drop pod that game when a marine that was standing in the doorway walked towards me getting off right as the pod was leaving. I managed to make it to the colony. We actually landed on 2 survivors and the third was found and actually shot by the marines for some reason. Long story short, I thought since I had done this the previous round on accident, that it was okay since I wasn't reprimanded for that incident. I'm open to discussion if you are.

You clearly have no idea of our rules and lack MASSIVE amounts of common sense.
Had you played any normal rounds or observed you would of known that CL is NOT men't to be played the way you played it. You did MULTIPLE things wrong and your reason for doing so are awful and make no sense. Really, I can't express how bad you screwed up as CL... it's to point that you never even used any basic common sense. You essentially STOLE a USMC shuttle for your own desires and headed down to the planet to establish a "outpost" ? You're not a explorer/researcher/scientist.. you were supposed to communicate with Sulaco Command and WY... you did NONE of that.
To top all that shit off, you went SSD in the fishing shack RIGHT BESIDE the Alien hive.

Re: SL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
Why are you insulting my common sense? Isn't insulting against the rules? I have played many normal and abnormal rounds, and I've seen much worse done than what I did. I've seen marines actually talk to the aliens and bring them aboard, or even the times when the predator just ends up helping out the marines? How were those players not banned? How can I steal a USMC shuttle when it's able to be accessed by me? I didn't try to establish an outpost at all, rather a defense for my life against the aliens that had found me and were attacking me. If the marines did find me then it probably did end up in a shorter round, that is a given, but maybe that was the ultimate goal.

Re: SL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
I've seen very terrible CLs, and I've even been ordered as a CL to take out the CO... that kindof violates some rules but I though since the CL is a roleplaying role the rules are less cemented into the ground. Regarding going over the CO's head on going down to the planet, previous rounds this has happened so why this time I got pinned I don't know. Also can't find any rules for CL besides what was in the Wiki. I was hoping for a S&R mission but honestly when I play other roles I am too afraid to try anything because I didn't want to be banned. I had it in my head that this role would provide more room to free will but I'm sorry I'm mistaken.

Why does SSD matter in this?Pink wrote:-1

If it is an issue of me being close to the hive, then what difference does it make if the CL or a survivor ( both have location tracked) gets dragged to the hive? None because you could see where the person was dragged.. it doesn't have to do with me ranking higher, but me having to access to what I did. If the access was there then why ban it when you do use it.

Re: CL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
Your job-ban is probably one of the most warranted.
You completely ignored your RP position and essentially METAed your way down to the colony without prior knowledge from USMC or WY. Not only did you run down to the colony at round start before briefing, you got drunk, passed out in a shack and TO TOP IT ALL OFF YOU WENT SSD.
Your actions as well as your entire defense and reasoning has demonstrated that you should not be in a RP and possibly any Command position.
Your ban appeal previously was "CL that got drunk and when planetside" which was denied by SAS.
I was the one who job-banned you so I wont further comment on your ban.
For further details you can check out his ban appeal that was denied.

I will say -1, one you are multi posting which is something a lot of staff don't like, and personally listening to both sides I am in full support of Pink. You seemed to have went down to the planet without any real reason besides not having a mission and didn't do your job. Just so much here to support the job ban, so yea going to have to give my full support to pink here.

Re: CL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
I have a problem with you saying I was meta gaming Pink. You see, as the WY rep, I was completely on grounds owned by WY the entire time so I had the complete right to do what I did. You just thought I had left the round early or tried to flee because I was afraid of getting caught for meta gaming, right? I had intentions to return and roleplay as to why and how I got where I was. I thought it was rather humorous but obviously everything I try to get across you to falls flat.

I can make multiple points in multiple posts. You signed up to keep up so I shouldn't be docked for a technicality.

Re: CL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
Actually as the CL even on planet you don't get to really do what you want. Essentially if this was real life, the CL would be a VIP for the marines and such they would have to organize a escort for you for the planet, kinda of makes it a bit hard with lizards who can shoot acid and want to kill you, but at the same time. That being said that does not give you the right to go down before the other players and go run around and do whatever you please, we actually use to have a rule against that sort of thing for rambos, however hard to rambo as the CL. You really broke immersion going down first because no business man would want to go to a war zone and then call up the military and tell them that he had set up a outpost or even going alone, he would probably try to set up a escort for himself with the heavily armed men that are in the same ship as him before going down. As I said, pink was in the right here.

Re: CL job ban ( went planetside investigating distress beacon)
-1 for the reasons stated above and
In one of the appeals yoiu said you did it since you didnt get to be an alien
You also took the pressure suit, the only reason for defence....hugger defences
Doesnt matter if its WY owned, the liason is ment to contact WY if needed, and try to keep the marines from damaging anything valuable to the company, not go down to the planet and do the dirty work
You sent the shuttle, your only way back to the sulaco, back, effectively stranding you down there, who would do that? On a planet that sent out a distress signal? It could be a virus, maybe wild animals, maybe pirates, you literaly got stuck down there with the danger and went to make a fort,so you self antaged yourself into a survivor this way.

Denied.
You went down to the planet and got drunk as a CL. That is the shittiest possible level of RP.
Your lucky SAS saw your other ban before I did, cause I would have denied it.
You don't know about the planet yet unless you use the fax to contact W-Y and get information. Otherwise, your just a liaison and a glorified corporate stooge.
