Butch Bunten Ban Appeal

Post by snail45 » 04 Mar 2016, 20:57

Your Byond ID | Character Name: snail45 | Butch Bunten

Admin who banned you: apophis

Total Ban Duration | Remaining Duration: permanent job ban from CE, MT, and Squad Engineer

Reason for ban (Exactly what the WHOLE text says, if there's a Code and you don't give it, there's no way to find the ban): Released N2O gas, ruined game for marines

Link to previous appeals for the same ban:

Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): A few months ago I was job banned from all engineering jobs for releasing N20 gas in atmos. It was completely justified, it was a really stupid thing to do. I still remember how angry the players were when they fell asleep and got killed by the aliens during escape. I really regret doing it, especially knowing that players are essential to this server and that breaking the rules can really push them away. I apologize for the damage I caused, I should've talked to someone before doing something that had potential to do some real damage.

The reason I would like these jobs back is because I enjoy being an engineer. I have played as a squad marine these past months so I could learn to just be happy being a part of the server. I feel horrible about what I did and if there is any way I can make up for it, please tell me how; I’d be happy to do anything to help the server. I think this is the greatest server, mostly because of how fun the other players are. So far, to make up for what I’ve done I’ve only tried being a good player, following the rules and trying to roleplay well. I know that isn’t enough to forgive what I’ve done. I understand when people don’t follow the rules and grief like I did, it can push away new players that have just started playing the game.

I promise to follow the rules and do my best to be a positive influence on this server. Spending time on this server made me realize how important it is to respect other people playing the game. Now, I’m ok if I never get the engineering jobs back because the main reason I play on this server is to see what entertaining random thing will happen every round. This really is my favorite game and server to play, I would like to see it grow. Rping and interacting with people, this is the type of gameplay I want to see get more popular. It sounds crazy but now I’d rather play this game then my HD, processor burning, xbox one games made with decades of development. I love how anything can happen and seeing how players deal with different situations. It is just so awesome how every round is different, how commanders, or squad leaders, or any influential job can greatly change the outcome of the game. This game is also, not just shooting or racing or like most games now just killing enemies; games that even kindergarteners can play. SS13 is a game that is enriched by player intelligence, hell it demands it. I’m sorry for being an idiot, I will become a better player.

To be a better player, I’ll review the rules more often, always ask for admin assistance when I do any influencial action I’m not sure about, and be friendly to other players and help players who want to learn more about the game. I think this game, and games like this have a good future. I want to support this game; it is cool how you have to read and learn how to do certain jobs to do them right. I believe that there is potential for educational games to be really awesome,(not like those dumb static games you play by yourself). Games that can simulate real life can be really fun. With enough help and support, colonial marines or games like colonial marines could have bigger servers or multiple servers, larger playerbases and fans. This game could inspire people to make much greater games or programs. Imagine people playing SS13 on their phones, or a new greater version of it on console. It is so fun interacting with other people in these situations, I want more people in the world to know about games like these. Games, where you can act like a marine, an engineer, a cop, a doctor. Where you can learn a little bit about electricity, and how to work and communicate with others, and even play with things that come from great imaginations (teleporting, aliens, space societies, etc).

One thought I had is, where video games could one day replace school. Like a game that simulates a school, and you could meet your friends and teacher in the school and learn stuff in school. And your character could do all the things you could do, like write on paper, and make machines or anything.

Take note everyone, this is how you appeal a ban.

Admitting mistakes.
Understanding the rules.
Showing improvement.
No lying.

+1

Seems pretty cut and clear. As feweh said You showed improvment massively (and somehow managed to get his +1 which is rare) Your appeal is comprehensive and well done.

Il support this appeal.
