Your appeal: I've been banned for a while now, and I'd like to once again play on CM after four months, I've took the time to re-read the rules, and i don't plan on breaking them this time.

Killed self as specialist due to someone destorying SM and feeling "depressed." When asked if he could have cyroed he said yes, but he wasn't thinking. Seeing how it is his first note, gave him a warning that next time he committed suicide in a job role with a valid reason, it would be a job ban. by ()  on Mon, January 11th of 2016

DNA locked the Mech and then Cryoed as the RO with out removing the DNA lock. Issued a warning by on Fri, January 29th of 2016

Cyroed himself after the CO gave him orders he didn't like. Also opened fire on a marine who was tresspassing and only called the MPs when I told him to by  on Sat, January 30th of 2016 

Jumpsuit/ID stripped a marine. Had a strong talk with him about fixing his behavior. Recommending next offense be a perma. by on Sat, January 30th of 2016 

Injected marines with a large amount of sopoforic because they said "fuck W-Y". When asked why he was injecting people going down to the planet, he responded "to calm them down and let them settle down." No objectives had been given to the CL during the round. (Player Report) Caused a one man mutiny on the bridge forcing all command staff to resign, Unjustified mutiny by  on Mon, February 8th of 2016 

Now this doesn't look too good, just off of dates alone. You were warned MANY times, and in my opinion punishment was lenient as all hell. Anyways, this ENTIRE mess happens in the space of less than a month, which does not tell me good things.

No other incidents worth mentioning for several rounds after that outside of more getting others to break into and hack the attachment vendor with varying degrees of success.

And here is were they killed themselves with C4 for no discernible reason, citing the latter two as the reasons. This is also where the note in question was made, and it is here I will stop with this particular incident. From what I've seen so far they seem like they weren't a terrible player, often going out of their way to make sure to get people out of the line of fire before shooting, but reading this log is telling. I feel it's enough evidence for now and will investigate further on request.


Almost every single note is based around power or metagaming, and I think those ones speak for themselves considering the span of time they were in and show a general disregard for the rules. The ones that aren't are just little things that I feel should have been obvious not to do. Escalation is also pretty bad in a lot of these it looks like.

A -1 from me, mostly because of the length of time it was done in. They obviously didn't learn anything since they kept breaking rules almost constantly. I mean some of these are on the same day even! Your appeal is also lackluster and gives me no reason to change my mind.

Just let me know if you want me to dig into more of these logs. I think what we have here alone is pretty telling though.

Yeah, I'm remembering this guy now.

As a few other staff mentioned when your perma was filed, you always seemed to go out of your way to cause trouble, and your notes were very frequent with not much time in-between.

It's a -1 from me. I would, however, recommend you wait another month or two and then appeal. At the moment, I feel it's too early. A half a year seems like a better standing point for you to appeal again and receive probation.

Im going to deny this appeal for now for two reasons.

First reason is because you didn't post the proper ban appeal format.

Second is due to the investigators findings.

I recommend trying again in a few months and then make another appeal proper and we can go from there. Locking this in 24 hours.

I fail to see why removing unnecessary information from the appeal format would be a huge problem, especially when it makes the appeal itself easier to read, and process, why would you need to be reminded of the "Remaining Duration:" on a permanent ban?

Two factors enter into whether or not your appeal gets accepted. The first is the appeal itself, which, if we're taking your word at face value minus the shit you've pulled, is okay. You sound relatively sincere but your notes are still what we take into account in terms of risk value. You broke a lot of rules in a short amount of time. We don't forget that or treat it lightly.

The second is that in terms of permanent bans, they're meant to be permanent. It's not a bluff. As annoying as it might be to hear this, giving you a permanent ban does not mean we banned you for four months, it means we banned you permanently. Even probation is a generous offer in some cases, especially yours.

That being said, if we're going to unban someone from a perma, they're better off waiting a long time. It makes us more comfortable in considering your appeal knowing you've actually "served a reasonable amount of time," and it shows that you're willing to be patient in regard to playing on the server again. So to answer the question of "how would two months make such a huge difference," it actually means a lot for both what we can infer about your potential conduct on the server and whether or not we believe you've served an adequate amount of time.

The rules you broke individually are not an incredible feat, but add them all up in that short of time, your perma is absolutely warranted. Waiting half a year feels, at a bare minimum, more right to letting you back than a third of a year.

Some staff might even disagree that you belong back at all. So, my suggestion is just be patient and come back in a month or so. You've started a dialogue, we will remember who you are on your next appeal, and you will have a much stronger chance. Best of luck.
