Here's the idea:
Survivors will have a "small" chance to have a more antagonistic role. Otherwise, they'll get a basic "objective" that is neutral.
We haven't got many ideas, but here's sort of the template survivors will get each round:
Code: Select all
Biography: This will be a description of who they were and what they did on the colony. They'll get "gear" related to this.
What you know: List of what they know about the ayylamos
Objective: A basic objective, or possible antag objective.
What you can do to completed the objective: Linked directly to the objective, limits the actions they can take. for example, someone who gets "survive" won't be able to murder everyone.
If you have suggestions for any of the parts of the template, post them here. The goal is to try to get a diverse number of options.

Maybe a separation between who they are and their background from their job? Just so it is easier to see onew a glance?
Like:
Background: (sample)
Job: (sample)
Objective: (sample)
Etc?

Colonists should have randomized names. Would help with the sense of distrust between them and marines.

Biography: "Why did I agree to get that DNA-data for those U.P.P. bastards! Everyone I knew here are most likely dead and I'll be soon too!
No amount of money is worth going through this kind of nightmare-", your internal dialogue gets interrupted by your PDA beeping.
Shocked by having your isolation interrupted by outside stimuli your eyes are drawn to the PDA screen.
"We've recieved reliable information that a USCM craft is heading to
your location. If you are still alive, you are to secure the DNA-data and
get evacuated. Once you are on the ship you are to meet up with
<Playername> under discretion on board. The USCM vessel is equipped with
jamming equipment to prevent unauthorized transmissions, but by using <Playername>'s
Telecomms Disruptor, you will be able to bring down this jammer temporarily
and upload your stolen data from your PDA.
If the payment we promised you isn't motivation enough, do know that your family is being held hostage."
What you know: You don't know anything other than that there's terrifying monsters in the dark, abducting and killing people.
You hunkered down as soon as things started to go wrong.
Objective: Meetup with contact on board, disable the T-comms and upload the sensitive science data to the U.P.P.
What you can do to complete the objective: We can add a new computer to the telecomms room called something with "jammer" that can be
hacked or disabled the brute force way if something goes wrong with the on ship contact. The disruptor itself has to be anchored on the ship,
brings down telecomms for 5 minutes, at this point M.O.T.H.E.R should give an announcement that an unauthorized transmission is taking place to
a nearby satelite or something and the upload will be completed in X minutes.
MPs get involved, CL gets involved, command etc. Maybe the data the antag has can have some dirt on the CL / W-Y so if the command staff
isn't too W-Y friendly he can get in trouble as well, generally just promoting as much RP as possible. Maybe there's some random elements to
what the data contains and what this antag knows.
If you guys think this is a good idea i'd prupose that we add PDA's to all survivors just so people don't meta-game survivors with PDAs after
this antag-role is known. Of course the faction that wants the data is interchangeable, just went with UPP because it popped up in my head.

I realize this would mean someone on the ship would be an coop antag as well, but I think it would be really interesting.
