New Sulaco Junk/recycle room
I had this idea while lingering in the junk room on Goonstation. I feel like we could spice up the disposals room a little by populating it with some fun things.
In short, repurpose the disposals room by turning it into a small museum/easter egg room. It's no secret that it won't be a commonly visited area of the ship, and I think we could have some fun with it.
The recycle room from Goonstation.
Examples of some objects that could be present:
Wrecked M577 APC (sprite WIP)
(basically a nice IC reason as to why the marines don't have a working APC)
New Years 2073 banner
(Left over banner from that new years party six years ago.)
Old propaganda posters
Other objects:
*Spare ammo
*Sheetmetal, tools, items used in construction/engineering
*An old set of marine armor from the days yonder (using the old sprite)
*Items that some players want to be included but don't have a place (IE Camera)
*Cassete tapes? Old Computers? Arcade machine?

This. Is. OMG. Yes. SO. GOOD. PLEASE. DO. IT!
Could have some small references to the actual film marines, that would be interesting too.

Tad late to the party, but most of this is in besides I believe the new years 2073 banner, which if added could be a nice touch.apophis775 wrote:We did this already, right?
Albeit with the New ship being designed maybe it's best to wait until then to add it?

While we're making changes in disposals would love to have a grinder there that recycles waste into glass, plasteel, metal, cardboard and so on depending on composition; can see the 'junk room' being an expansion of that.
Also a disposals tube linking the dispenser segment of Cargo with the Disposals conveyor belt, so you can easily retrieve valuable stuff some ass has thrown down disposals and recycle it back into stock/redistribute it.

What's the New years 2073 banner a reference to?TopHatPenguin wrote:Tad late to the party, but most of this is in besides I believe the new years 2073 banner, which if added could be a nice touch.

Re: New Sulaco Junk/recycle room
Meant to write 2173 new years banner my bad, also if I'm not mistaken it's a reference to Hadley's Hope as it's the year Newt is born but I have no idea if that's what Josh was rolling for when he designed it.McRipfist wrote:What's the New years 2073 banner a reference to?

Re: New Sulaco Junk/recycle room
I know this is a tad late, but a lot has changed since then.
Many of these sprites are now used in other places just the junk room, and I can't help but wonder if we are ever going to put more in the trash room other than oxygen tanks, crates and a single poster? As is, it is just another place to store stuff, nothing really special about it.
