Kelly Mason's Dossier

Post by razerwing » 19 Feb 2015, 23:43

FULL NAME - Kelly Ines Mason

NICKNAME(S) - Kelly. Red. That Bitch. Doc.

AGE - 35

BIRTH DATE - April 18th

GENDER - Female

POSITION - Field Medic.

NOTABLE TRAITS - Her scar, and her ability to out-curse a sailor. While she may not be able to fill a 15 word sentence with 12 curse words, she knows most of them by heart and won't hesitate to show rookies how it's done. She saves what she considers her most degrading insults for those she deems fit, such as incompetent command staff and such. Her scar is rather sizeable, and runs down from the upper right side of her head, all the way down to rest under the left side of her bottom lip. One of the other more notable things about her is her sense of honor. As a field doctor, she upholds the highest sense of 'No-Man-Left-Behind'. This often conflicts with her sense of 'Bring-Them-Back-Alive". While history has proven that she'll more often than not go with the latter, it's never an easy choice for her, and she never enjoys it.

PERSONA - Mason served in the USCM for 17 years, and has been a medic for 15 of those. The other 2 were spent working as a standard rifleman. As such, she has a very firm grasp on the physical effects of war. Blood, guts, and gore don't bother her much, if at all. She is far from a master strategist, but that's okay because most of her strategies revolve around keeping her marines (and they are HER marines) healthy, whole, and getting them back to whatever families they have in one piece.

ETHNICITY - Caucasian.

NATIONALITY - German-American.

VOICE- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAJLWSg ... freload=10 (Towards the end, where Rico makes Dizzy his new Squad Leader, hue hue.)

HISTORY - Her very first two years of service saw her in two very different types of climate. The first deployment was on a frozen wasteland of a planet called Charybdis. Apparently a band of pirates had settled down there and began causing trouble for everyone. The Colonial Marines were dispatched and a large task force was sent planetside. This task force earned the name Icebreaker. The battle there was quick, and far from the full-on war that a lot of people had expected. The pirates were mostly dead by the time the Marines made their move, so all that had been left was to eliminate the survivors and take the base down. The resulting explosion left a hole the size of a small country, and the ice bank in that area never looked quite the same again.

Her second year saw her serving with a large, company-sized detachment of Marines called the Mobile Infantry. The company had been dispatched to deal with a 'bug problem' on a backwater desert planet called Klendathu. What they saw there changed the survivors, scarred them for the rest of their lives. They witnessed horrors there that very few people should see, and no one wants to. Kelly Mason proved her worth as a Field Medic from the initial landing forward, all the way up to the eventual tactical withdrawal order from Centcomm. The only rounds she fired were when the medical camp came under attack and had to be evac'd via dropship. It was here that Kelly learned the value of a life, and it was here that she learned to deal with blood, guts, and the screaming of the dying. Of course, after proving herself a valuable asset, Kelly was redeployed with the 143rd Mechanized Division. Their orders were to establish an FOB, a leap-frog point for future divisions to leap off of. They were digging in and putting up walls when the first wave hit like a tempest. They managed to lose two of their five APC's to Tankers, many of their soldiers, and God knows how much ammo. They were forced to fall back and merge with an incoming Infantry Division that was pushing their way to a colony. Here she met Xur Dergens and Lewis Calhoun. The push was unsuccessful to say the least, resulting in Kelly's current Arachnaphobia, inability to go to the beach or anywhere remotely sandy, and reactions to the words 'bug' and 'hunt'. It was also during the push that she gained her somewhat famous gait. Her limp, caused by shrapnel from one of the nearby APC's going kablooey.

Try as she might, the event had traumatized her to the point where going to the beach was impossible. Sand drove her up the wall, and whenever someone mentioned the word 'bug' or 'hunt' in the same sentence, she would flip her shit. Thus, she was assigned to the NMV Sulaco, which was mainly tasked with recovery missions, dealing with pirate raids and bases, and resupplying colonies at the far reaches of the Military's reach. She's served aboard the Sulaco for ten years straight, always watching over her marines, always waiting in the wings to make sure they come home alive, and sometimes even going in to get them herself.

RELATIONS - There are few aboard the Sulaco that can actually tell her what to do in a way that she'll listen. Rovern Solzaire, Lewis Calhoun (if done right), Xur Dergens, and Dirk McSteelabs are these people.

SEXUALITY - Straight as an arrow.

LOVE INTEREST - None at the moment, however this may be subject to change.

BASIC APPEARANCE - Dark red hair, green eyes, the scar, tattoos all down her right arm from the shoulder, and an Ace of Spades tattoo on her back. Her personal armor has the words Blitz Krieg on the top and bottom (respectively) of a crudely drawn skull. On her left arm is a hand-made armor pauldron with the Red Cross of Medical Personnel on it, the left strap of her armor has a yellow frowny face with mad eyebrows (Angry Infantry symbol), and her right strap has a crudely carved, Old Germanic eagle with the word 'Scharfschutze' lovingly pinstriped just underneath it.

DISLIKES - Incompetent marines, incompetent commanders, Higher-ups in general, and Malachi Hoopengarner.

FEARS - Dying for nothing, losing people close to her, snakes, bugs, spiders, sand.

LIKES - White Russians, being up to her elbows in a marine's guts, the smell of blood and gunpowder, the word Fucknugget.

STRENGTHS - Has become accustomed to acting as a Radio Transmissions Officer, knows most radio freq's by heart, will fight to the bloody and bitter end, is willing to give her life for HER marines, won't take no for an answer.

NUMBER OF YEARS SERVED - 17

VIEWS ON THE SERVICE - She likes the sound and act of war, but not the cost in lives. She views most commanding personnel as pussies who did just enough service to get out and grind on a pencil sharpener. If a commanding officer tells her to do something that will put her marines at risk, or is outright stupid, she won't hesitate to tell him so. It is for this reason that she doesn't like standing too close to MP's.

SPECIALTIES TRAINED IN - Survival training, basic jump-training, Rapid Deployment training, Medical Operations, Field Medicine, Radio Communications, Advanced Marksmanship Training, and Explosive Ordinance Training.

What this means is whether she has to chop her way through a jungle, jump out of a dropship, participate in Shock Operations, rewire a radio communications console and respective equipment, make things go boom and make things stop breathing... Come hell or highwater, she will find you and she will do her damndest to make sure you make it off the ride.

Pretty great, but maybe we could get rid of the White Supremacist/Neo-Nazi iconography on the armour paint?

Blitz Krieg simply means lightning war in german, its not directly related to the Nazis.

Speedy I think he is talking about this part " and her right strap has the lightning bolts SS of Old Germany."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runic_insi ... utzstaffel

This is what they say in regards to the SS rune:

The sig rune (or Siegrune) symbolised victory (sieg). In its original form as the ᛋ-rune of the Younger Futhark, it represented the sun; however, von List reinterpreted it as a victory sign when he compiled his list of "Armanen runes" .[1]
It was adapted into the emblem of the SS in 1933 by Walter Heck, an SS Sturmhauptführer who worked as a graphic designer for Ferdinand Hoffstatter, a producer of emblems and insignia in Bonn.[1] Heck's simple but striking device consisted of two sig runes drawn side by side like lightning bolts, and was soon adopted by all branches of the SS – though Heck himself received only a token payment of 2.5 Reichsmarks for his work.[2] The device had a double meaning; as well as standing for the initials of the SS, it could be read as a rallying cry of "Victory, Victory!".[1] The symbol became so ubiquitous that it was frequently typeset using runes rather than letters; during the Nazi period, an extra key was added to German typewriters to enable them to type the double-sig logo with a single keystroke.[3]

Internationally-renowned American rock band Kiss uses a different logo in Germany than it does for the rest of the world, due to the two 'S's in their logo (which spells out 'KISS') resembling the double-sig rune.[4]

In February 2012, it was reported that United States Marine Corps scout snipers had been using the double-sig rune to symbolize their function since at least the 1980s.[5][6] The disclosure led to strong public criticism due to the link with the SS. The Commandant of the Marine Corps gave orders to stop the practice, issued an apology and ordered an investigation into the prevalence of the practice.[6]

You are aware that the Blitzkrieg was a form of warfare developed and implemented by the Nazi's in their conquest of Europe, correct?

Hmmm... I'd originally meant the two bolts to stand for Scharfschutze (sharpshooter), but I can see where I may have made a mistake in describing it. I'll have it edited shortly, with what I hope is a better description.

While I do quite enjoy being white, I am far from a white supremacist or Neo Nazi, I assure you.

Edit: I won't be taking off the Blitz Krieg from the description however. I enjoy my acts of war, and despite the fact that a lot of people hate to admit it, that specific style caused a hell of a ruckus for the time period. I for one respect that immensely.

So? The Nazis also developed rockets, should the entire world not use rockets?
