Born in the suburbs of Paris, France, Renaud had a long and difficult childhood before his 18th birthday. The 21th of October 2178 he joined the USCM in a Military learning program where he was formed as an engineer specialized in explosives and field hacking. First, he was deployed in the base of New Paris, on Moon where he was given military primary knowledge. Finally gradueted 2 years after of a Field Engineer certification he was deployed on the USS Salamander as a CPL expert in the use of Field Explosives and hacking.

Learning the death of his father at work at Weylands Factory on Earth, he's now clearly hostile to any Weylands representant. Changing his affectation was highly recommended by the Executive Officer after a few brawl with the crew which was highly Loyal to Weyland. 10 days before knowing his new ship assignment, Renaud was sent for the first time in battle.

A colony named LV-223 was under attack by an unknown menace and sent a distress beacon. When finally on place, Renaud was an Alpha Squad Engineer in charge of breaching in the Research lab with his squad. Once on the planet, it occur that the colony has been taken by a UPP platoon that have secured the place. Thanks to C4s, Renauds Squad managed to breach into the Research lab and kill most of the UPP soldiers present. However, casualties were high. On the 14 that deployed, only 8 survived and Renaud was hit by a frag grenade in the left leg and chest.

After, a 3 hour siege, the colony was finally in the hand of the USCM. However, around 70% of the marines were down and in those most of the only friends of Renaud. After getting back on the ship, a waited for his new assignment. He was finally assigned to the USS Almayer where is he's now serving as a Delta Field Engineer.

Note: His USS Alamayer mentors were Mark Kesserline and Dolthgar Folk.
