*recording #204, Doctor: [Redacted] , Patient#16: Luigi Ferraria Giovanni*
*beginning playback*
[Redacted]: Alright we'll start this off with sharing names. Mine is [oof].
Luigi: Luigi Ferraria Giovanni.
[Redacted]: Italian?
Luigi: On my father's side.
[Redacted]: Sounds about right. The middle name didn't seem it. Portuguese I assume?
*Luigi rustles around in his seat, uncomfortable with the arrangements*
Luigi: Get to the point, please. Why the hell am I in this cramped ass room?
[Redacted]: So we can get to know each other, Luigi! Like for instance, you were born on Luna, weren't you? What was your childhood like?
Luigi: It was like any other should be, can you skip ahead in your little list of questions? You're asking all the shit ones.
[Redacted]: Patience, Luigi. We'll get to the heart of the problem later. But uh... here we are. You joined the marine corp when you were 19, correct?
Luigi: Mhm.. I don't see a problem with that.
[Redacted]: No, no problems.. just seems rather ambitious of someone your age to head off into war.
Luigi: Plenty have done it before, history books talk about it all the time.
[Redacted]: ... I mean for a man that had a 3.8 grade average, the army is one hell of an odd place to just up and decide to go into.
Luigi: I wanted to see what it was like to risk my life for others, pretty fucking shit now that I think about it. In too deep now, however... so I carry on.
[Redacted]: I suppose to each their own. However, for someone thinking it's bad to risk their lives for others, you're always itching to be on the front line.
*Rustling on Luigi's side indicates he sits upward, as both his feet flatten on the ground.*
Luigi: What's the problem with being a good soldier?
[Redacted]: The problem arises when you put yourself into risky situations for no profit other than your own.
Luigi: If you're talking about two days ago, I saved that man's life.
[Redacted]: At the cost of three bullets to the chest, one of them having to be pulled out during surgery... and a fractured sternum, Luigi.
Luigi: War is hell, who could've fucking guessed.
[Redacted]: We all know war is a dangerous place to be, but there are reasons why there are percautions taken by your squad leaders to keep you alive-
*Luigi almost leaps out of his chair and to his feet*
Luigi: That fucking idiot didn't know what he was saying. Pull back? We had them outnumbered. We should've pushed forward!
[Redacted]: And you did.. when artillery bombarded the area and set off the mine field that was north of your position. The reason why your lead called you back.
Luigi: ...What's your point, doc.
[Redacted]: We don't need men running out there and wasting their lives for nothing. Smart men especially, Luigi.
*Luigi has fully stood up now, grimacing.*
Luigi: ... I can't fucking believe this. I'm NOT AIMING, TO GET, MYSELF KILLED. Fuck off, will you? We're done here.
[Redacted]: It'd be better if you stayed and we kept talking, green tea?
*the sounds of a siren blares through the ship, and a speaker buzzes to life*
Speaker: THIS IS NOT A DRILL! UPP HAVE BOARDED THE SHIP, TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS MARINES! SMOKE THEM OUT AND SHOOT EM DEAD!
Luigi: Sorry, doctor. We're done here, duty calls.
[Redacted]: I suppose so.. stay safe. Medbay will obviously be locked down, so injured will likely not be able to get treatment in time.
Luigi: Like I don't already understand that, doctor.
*Luigi leaves, emergency shutters close, and recording abruptly ends.*
