Early Life
Dayton Mann was born on June 20, 2125 to Ann and Gunther Mann in the city of Boston, USA. With his parents both being renowned in the fields of starship engineering, it is safe to say that Dayton was born to work on machines. Growing up, he would spend some of his free time riding his bike to Logan Starport to marvel at the starships coming and going. It was this fascination with machinery that helped Dayton get into the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
College Life
After 18 years of working towards a bright future, Dayton finally was able to relax a bit in college. It was here that Dayton met his best friend, Joshuu Joshua. Together they spent time pulling off totally rad pranks and cursing the fact that they didn't grow up in the fabled 1980's. In his four years at Harvard Mann learned the ins and out of basic mechanical machinery, as well as some rudimentary hacking skills, and while he still wanted to have a career in starship engineering, he realized he yearned for something that wouldn't be found in a lab: adventure. A few months before graduating, Dayton Mann had realized that his whole life had been pretty much scheduled, and it was that realization that spurred him to join the United States Colonial Marines. The idea was put forth by Joshuu, who had decided he was going to enlist when he was still a junior in college. Dayton's parents weren't thrilled about this sudden career choice, but they respected their son's judgment and accepted his decision.

At the time of this report, Dayton Mann has been an enlisted marine for the USCM for 2 years. He has made many friends and, despite plenty of hardship and near-death experiences, he has greatly valued his time with the marines. He has managed to hold onto his sense of humor (although it may have darkened quite a bit due to the sobering horrors of combat) and will generally attempt to lighten the mood in times of increased tension. Despite all of this, however, Mann is still conflicted about whether or not he should sign on for another tour of duty. Dayton's decision will no doubt be influenced by his next assignments.
Relations:
Joshuu Joshua: College buddy, it was largely due to his influence that Dayton joined the USCM. Shares Dayton's love of the 1980s.
Melissa Wright: Shares Dayton's love of cargo trains, once saved his life after a horrific Cargo Tug crash. Despite her constant need to annoy him Dayton trusts her with his life and she is the friend he never knew he wanted.
Bigby Farkas: Dayton's friend whom he respects greatly. This respect has never stopped Dayton from dragging him into stupid pranks and shenanigans.
Mike Hernandez: One of Dayton's best friends, countless close-calls have transformed them into an inseparable team.
Osalaa Wooki: A well-experienced member of the USCM. Dayton tends to go to him for advice.
Tanya Hernandez: Her light-hearted demeanor is always a refreshing change of pace from the hordes of edgy baldies.
Rain Winterson: The smiling girl behind the desk at cargo with whom he spends a great deal of his free time. Mann owes her a nice dinner as she is loathe to let him forget.
